Yeah, that’s NOT Natsume lol. I mean Nishimura should’ve taken the hint in the very first minute itself, when he saw Natsume climbing and jumping two floors as if it’s an absolutely normal activity. Plus this Natsume smiled a lot. Though I’m more concerned over the fact that he never felt the need to discuss their nighttime meetings during the broad daylight in school… with the Natsume who genuinely felt different lol. Could be that Nishimura also felt “that” a different Natsume, but still lol.

Nothing good has ever come while dealing with a “doll” in any sort of media, so yeah, this all was a doll's doing itself, but hey, if you told me to roam around in an abandoned as hell mansion while carrying a broken left finger, I’d have refused. Though yeah, it’s stories like these, which, if anything, strengthen Natsume’s bond with these people, so fine I guess xD

Fake Natsume, huh? This reminded me of the episode when Nyanko-sensei pretented to be Natsume. It was a hilarious one.

Nishimura got involved in something he should not have been involved with even if it was unknowingly.
Nothing happened to him tho which was a good thing tho it might reflect Natsume in a bad way.
Nishimura doesn't seem like that guy tho but you never know.

A very bittersweet episode, the night scenes and the music were so beautiful (and I cried obviously)

It was fun getting an outsider's perspective on what dealing with a yôkai might feel like.

Nishimura is always so sweet. It's great to have another episode in which he plays such a large part.

Awww, it changed its mind at the last and saved him... rather than the usual creepy doll bad end of devouring his soul and leaving the body for the crows.

Nishimura lucked out by being a good kid and friend.

That fake Natsume looks so much like Gin, I can't stop thinking about that. It's heartbreaking because both of them are longing for human touch.

I'm glad the doll didn't do any harm to Nishimura. It's heartwarming to see that Natsume has such warm and kind friends by his side now.

Btw I miss seeing Natsume clapping his hands and using his yuujinchou again...

Still missing some great episodes that (almost) made me cry. (Where the previous seasons seemed to have more.) For now I enjoyed the one with Matoba the most. Seems from the preview that he is involved again in the next episode.

such a peculiar and mysterious episode! i just can't imagine somebody abandoning that beautiful and well-crafted doll! somebody must have adored it for a long time! maybe it became a family heirloom for long enough that it became a 100-year-old tsukumogami?
just an ol school otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.

Always a fun experience seeing Natsume from an external and regular human eye, at this point i'd say Nishimura would still be Natsume's friend even if he knew his "strange" side, i hope he tells him and his other friend as well someday even if that world definitely is dangerous like proven in this episode, who knows what the intents of the doll was but it did look harmless towards the end atleast, also that song was so pretty and mysterious

This episode overall felt and reminded me of the first episodes of Yofukashi no Uta, the magical vibe of the night, the mystery, the fact you're not supposed to be out at these times, really makes you feel something.

4 episodes left and i really don't want this season to end, this anime cures the soul like nothing else, really :(

Natsume episodes don't disappoint.
Some may say Ishimura is dumb or has no survival skills, but it's his honesty and innocence that saved his life (if we assume he'd get killed/eaten to begin with).
