Yup, the marriage is a like and Kouchi's reaction is natural.

On the other hand, this episode did a great job at expressing the emotions for both Rika and Takuya. They managed to spend some quality time together (lol the frog though). I know it's kinda slow but the relationship chemistry is there.

Damn, didnt know that Honjouji was this heavy that it needed two grown men to carry her, she better do something about that soon, lol.

But anyway, the secret is out, the family now knows that there in no way is going to be any marriage happening ... for sure, they are all convinced that nothing of the sort is gonna happen, no marriage is happening, you heard.

Didn't expect to see an old Fiat Panda in anime.
Anyway the couple is getting closer but at the end a rival appears.
I wonder if anything is going on between the rival and the male lead tho.
I wonder if the rival and female lead can be good friends tho.

Man the dad really is digging a lot to complain about. What a time for Rika to wake up though. Still she is defo someone that would get too immensed in her task and forget the time. I can totally see Rika do travel programs as a host if she didn't work in her current role. Curious to see what role Nao would have here.

Honjouji looking dead inside when Nao was ruffling Oohara's hair was great.

I'm a little surprised that they actually came out and "fessed up" that they're not getting married. I assumed that the show was going to drag out the misunderstanding with the family for a whole year. I was impressed that the dad was shown to be genuinely upset and disappointed with his son.

The show is really charming, somehow. Even though the story and both of the characters are kind of bland, it does small goofy and adorable things here and there and stays enjoyable.

This anime is an easy 20/10 and absolutely amazing!

It's on par with any live-action production, whether it's a dorama, a romance series, or even a soap opera (or "telenovela"), and trust me, as a Mexican, I know what I'm talking about. It’s simply beautiful; finally, the feelings are starting to blossom, and with the introduction of some “competition” for Honjoji, I can only expect great things in the upcoming episodes.

Massive F’s in the chat for Rika who just wanted to play with Takuya’s hair all episode but was too nervous, just for Nao to show up out of nowhere and do it instantly lmao. Rika has definitely started to properly fall for Takuya now though so things should get quite interesting

The Aso volcano museum date was so cute. I love how curious and intellectual Rika is. She’s such a big nerd and just likes learning new things. She’s got a childlike inquisitiveness to her that’s really endearing. All goes back to how she used maps and travelling to feel closer to her mom who was gone all the time.

Also glad they cleared up the misunderstanding and let everyone know they’re not getting married. A lot of shows would’ve dragged that on forever! Really cute episode as usual

Yeah, I respect it for that. I confess that going into last week's and this week's episode and wondering how it was going to be handled, I definitely leaned more toward the side of thinking "Well, what makes sense for the characters in-universe is to tell his family members simply and plainly that it's just a ruse they concocted for work, bring them in on the secret so they don't let anything slip if they're ever contacted by his office, and then just move on back to their normal day-to-day for the time being. Because even if they end up getting married by the end of the series or implied to be so soon, and even if that is the entire slowly building premise going on underneath the surface which we the audience are aware of and watching to see how it materializes, the characters don't know that and have no reason to yet feel that way and act on it. So a major convenience or series of conveniences will probably occur to have them avoid telling his family the truth, in order to make it easier down the line for everything naturally to fall into place when they do end up getting married.

Of course they could still tell his family the truth as would make sense to do and then still genuinely fall in love and get married later anyway, but I don't think the show will get that complicated in its steps or layers and just go for the easy and sitcom-style miscommunication/non-communication route over this matter, as befits an easygoing romcom."

But the characters actually acted more realistically and things actually unfolded in a manner which made more sense for the characters and world as they/it are right now. That sounds like no big deal and a logical common sense approach, but so so many shows would do the opposite.

Rika getting excited and talk about geography is fun to watch. I really like this quirk of her. She badly wanted to go to that museum and chance appeared timely. It was good seeing them have nice time.
Good development thanks to frogs. Poor Rika though, really wanted to stroke Takuya's hair all episode only to see another girl doing it. She gave up on life there.

I really thought they wouldn't tell Oohara's family the truth about the engagement, but I was wrong! Still, keeping it from her coworkers won't be easy.

And that pesky frog had to ruin Oohara's moment! This episode was great: Oohara and Honjouji had really good chemistry and really enjoyed their day together. It even seems like Honjouji might be feeling something, and I thought Oohara would be the first. I need to know what shampoo Oohara uses; Honjouji couldn't stop staring at her hair!

But of course, things can't stay perfect: will Honjouji now face some romantic competition?

So obvious that now they’ve confessed to the fake wedding, there’s a 100% certainty of the real thing. Plus they will both use their child wrangling skills to become teachers and raise their own rugrats back in the inaka. Sometimes simple real-life stories are the best. But there have to be a few obstacles before that happens!

@Stark700 I've had that experience with a tree frog before, but it was putting up some camping gear my Mom & Step-father used. A pine barrens tree frog landed right on my glasses. ROFLOL.
She is starting to fall for him!
And now I have a 2nd suspect for the Blackmail phone calls. Though Nao is a bit of a stretch.

She has officially fallen in love with him, and the museum event just made it so much worse, love it so much. I'm glad he can still have such a good relation with his childhood friend. I was sad/scared for a moment but friend saved us from the negativity train.
I'm sure everyone is going to tell dad that they are totally gonna end up getting married and move here, just give them time.

I would love to date either of them, they are both great!

This was a really nice episode. Loved the part where Rika and Takuya were just walking under the moonlight. Even though it wasn't like the animation budget was crazy high, it still looked very beautiful. I also liked their little date in the museum. I love how Rika geeks out about geographical things. Although that's not exactly my thing, the feeling of going all out when you discuss the thing you're passionate about is mutual. Love Hayamin's performance. Tho it's still kinda hard not to hear Yor when she speaks lol.

So, Takuya and Rika cleared their misunderstanding huh? That was quick. I was hoping for a bit more drama lol. Especially with Takuya's sisters. They seemed like they'd be interesting characters.

What's this? A new challenger has arrived? I wasn't expecting this anime would go for the love triangle route. AND with a rural, tomboy childhood friend no less. Hoo boy. I hope it'll at least be entertaining...

Takuya's dad is an annoyingly accurate depiction of many parents, including mine. Any time they have the tiniest bit of beef with you, they refuse to listen while at the same time; at the most inappropriate time/place/occasion, they bring up unrelated ancient history from when you were a kid and start nagging the hell off, listing every minor petty thing as if you were dying and having your life flash before your eyes...They're practically addicted to reminding you of how much of a disappointment they think you are at every chance they get.

Speaking of parents...I wonder where Rika's mother is currently at.

The white family car he's driving around the countryside roads looks like something out of Initial D, minus the tofu shop logo on the side.

It's just like Rika to want to go to the volcano museum since she's so into rocks and geography.

With how well the two of them handled the group of rowdy school kids, maybe it's a good sign of how they'd handle children of their own one day.

Now that the family knows their secret, it will easy for them.

That new girl is very energetic but I hope no confusions caused by her in future.
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

This episode was cuteness overload x 100. Takuya's sisters are so sweet and his grandma is the best grandma ever. There's definitely some lingering animosity between him and his dad since he never seems to consider that his son is enjoying and is fulfilled with his work. I loved how Honjoji was so enamored with his fluffy hair, I relate to her so much with that. Not the childhood friend touching his friend and Rika pulling in on herself again; my heart broke for her there.

Nao might possibly be a rival or at least someone who will cause jealousy. Her voice sounds familiar. It turns out her seiyuu also voices Sakurahi in Magilumiere and Ayukawa ni Negaposi Angler.

Rika is starting to develop feelings for Takuya though.

ETA: This is romcom but it also functions to promote tourist spots.

Yep, that's right. Kouichi, who didn't expect Takuya to have arrived, let alone that he was there, was definitely surprised. Kouichi and Takuya immediately brought Rika into the house and laid her down on a futon. Not long after that, Dr. Whiskers, who was called by Grandma, came to check on her condition. Luckily, Rika didn't suffer from heatstroke, but was just tired.

After that, Takuya visited his home in Aso, meeting his family. He explained that none of it was true, that his marriage was fake. Some of them were disappointed, because some had prepared some gifts. But it was different with Kouichi, Takuya's father. It seemed like he was very upset about this.

Before returning to Tokyo, Rika wanted to apologize to Takuya's entire family, although she hadn't had the chance to do so to Kouichi because he was at work. Not only that, Rika also wanted to visit the Aso Volcano Museum. Therefore, Takuya and Rika went there together. Eh, suddenly the two of them became tour guides for a group of children 😂

The father-and-son bickering sure put Rika in a deal of near-trouble, and the lie becomes official to Takuya's family, which will take time to simmer down. But for his grandma to be a wingwoman for the both of them to sleep in one room together, it's quite the near-disaster for the fake marriage, but also one which they're able to grow closer slowly but surely, from the frog-like stone to actual frogs in the countryside. Frog-kun becomes the interruption, too bad...

The morning thereafter, and both Takuya and Rika already feel like a married couple, with the latter having the thought to want to ruffle his bedhair and the former showing her around Aso, even entertaining kids on their trip as well. Of course...there's the childhood friend of glassmaker Nao Miyama playing with Takuya's hair, something which Rika so desperately wanted to do.

Welp, the coworker and the childhood friend going to Tokyo...I smell drama on this.
