Nijima's colleague is basically throwing herself at him! I swear, if this anime ends without these two getting together, I'll break something. Takae is dead, it's sad, but fact, and it's not normal to stay sad for the rest of your life and be alone.

Plus I don't know why any of them are so sad: They have proof of an afterlife! Just look forward to meeting again in the future. Leave Marika alone, go marry the colleague, happy end. And get a grip, Mai, seriously.

Man, this episode's end really makes me fear he's gonna push her away intentionally.
If you haven't watched "Fantastic Children", don't talk about "best anime". Thank you.

Most probably he will at first, because the story calls for a dramatic development, aka forced drama, but that's not necessarily bad, hopefully.

She is necessary for him to move on. Even Takae is Team Moriya.

So fuck Moriya already!

Serious question. Do these things happen in real life where a young trad women with good morals confesses to you even tho you're the most pathetic individual on the planet? Asking because it has never happened to me.

To be fair, Moriya's feelings for him are solely based on her point of view, based on limited experience being around him while we, the viewers see everything.

In real life, it happens. Traditional women believe that if a man is competent, responsible, decent, respectful that's more than enough assure them they'll be a good loving husband and great father to their kids.

"Manga readers are annoying, all they do is complain or spoil the anime we discuss in an anime forum.
They should really do their whining at manga forums.

No I don't think he will. For him Takae is his only love after all. In my view The only reason he didn't suicide, honestly, is because Mai exists even though he didn't know what to do or say to her in times where she needed (Like any parent because no one is teaching how parenting works especially harder when being a single parent). And I think he'll just live on as Mai's Father and very potentially as a Grandpa.

I get him he's kinda like me (Pathetic).

Why I not surprised that I see another thread made by person who obviously does not go outside and interact with real people.

And now all persons who are single or are in mourning are insane, I wonder what will be next by the end of the series?

Anyway, with so much time on hand why not give manga a shot? That way you would know how this story ends and there would be no need for this 'venting' every few episodes.

@HansDevX "Most pathetic individual"

Umm, Nijima is a hardworking single-father who's doing pretty well, outside of his despair after losing his wife. What are you on about?

@muracao There is a slight chance, giving how much they changed when compared to the manga, that anime will go with original ending.

@MyllerPhiem You don't have to go for the emotional response. Someone who isn't pathetic is a stoic rational thinker, does not act on emotions. He lost his wife yeah, but that was 10 years ago bro needs to move on and i've personally lost important people in my life too so i'm not going to get brow beat on pity. Leave that trait of being emotional to deku or a female character.

From what I see, the moment Niijima accepts his wife is dead and allows himself to move on, he will open to the colleague's feelings and his wife's spirit will depart.
