| While yes, the VA was doing an awesome job, we should also give the due credit to the people giving direction. You can have a legendary VA handling a character, but it won't hit the perfect mark without proper guidance. While I don't speak the dialect, I immediately beamed ear-to-ear when I heard Kyoumoto talk for the first time. Pretty sure she nailed the Akita dialect perfectly, having lived in the area for a year I do know that the dialect coach actually did their job. It was not too thick like the old people. But it was definitely enough to portray that she probably only learned the language from her folks and didn't interact with other kids who spoke standard Japanese much (or at all). |
