I don’t know, but so far season 1 has been (among other things) inconsistent with it’s protagonist designation.

I think this is going to be a full adaptation and it's very clear the characters know the Earth is a sphere; this was something known way before people thought the Earth rotated.

Not only is it not inconsistent on that, since it has multiple protagonist (next you gonna say mha is inconsistent cause it is about the whole class), best of all, the "protagonist" if you will, of the story is actually the idea that the people carry (or maybe it's the ball that everyone carries around, you choose)

Wdym? It's a love declaration to all past, present and future researchers each of them giving their life (in reality the time of their life) for knowledge, transmitting the duty of unraveling the mysteries of the universe (in reality delivering PhD) while being so humble they agree to die when time has come (in reality analysing and promoting what young the young generation of researchers of their time say that might shatter the work of older researchers) and all of this not for them but for the beauty of knowledge.

Sure it won't focus a single characters at the beginning seeing how science is all about teams of people having worked on the same things through ages to acquire knowledge step by step.

Badeni already said he knows it's a sphere and that its rotation is what causes the Sun and stars to move across the sky.

@DragyG
Rafal died after refusing to denounce his studies on the heliocentric theory in episode 3 and in episode 4 the POV protagonist shifted over to Oczy. That’s what I mean.

That's a literary technique called false protagonist.

That's not being inconsistent since it's premeditated as a way to tell a story / set the stakes.

The sequel could be ‘On the Origin of Species etc etc…’ Dealing with Darwinism vs the church?
Or something about the devolution of humans to the intellectual equivalent of yeast to explain the average MAL troll mentality?

There'll be no season 2. This season will have 25 episodes, which will cover the full manga.

@Lilyitch691 Some of you anime fans overvalue too much the role of a protagonist and go on a crisis when they don´t meet certain personal standards.. Protagonists and antagonists are just a medium to tell a story, nothing else. If anything the protagonist of this story are the ideas passed along the different characters.
