Interesting that now Chinatsu thinks Hina and Taiki are a couple or something. That’s not true at all.

Taiki having Chinatsu as his housemate was the best thing he could experiment. I hope he’ll confess his feelings to her before it’s not too late. Now that Hina knows Taiki and Chinatsu are living together, it might be a problem with their secret.

Fantastic episode. The ending was interesting as well because it made it seem like Chinatsu has no love interest in Taiki at all, which, for now I am fine with because her focus does seem to be fully on Basketball. I think it's a nice change of pace then coming to the realization that since someone else likes Taiki a light goes off and Chinatsu is like "Oh so do I" For 24 episodes I think it will only lead to better development for all of them

The consistency of this anime amazes me, another great episode.

It was an episode more focused on Hina, and honestly, I loved that, since we didn't get much from her in the first 4 episodes. It seems that after thinking for herself, she was able to deal with what she really feels about Taiki, and finally came to a conclusion about it: she loves him. And what she wanted to do was to start being less time with Taiki, so that Chinatsu wouldn't get their relationship wrong, and she wouldn't make it hard for Taiki to date Chinatsu. However, as Taiki kindly reminded her, she is a fighter, so she obviously is going to fight to grab Taiki's attention, and try to change his view on her. I feel like all of this development felt natural and perfectly placed, and when she fell, I was geninely getting worried, because I was like "my girl didn't get through all that emotinal pain, to just fail the nationals now because of an ankle", luckly, it was just her worrying too much!
Kyou, on the other hand, was seeing the movie way before us, and he already knew that Hino would eventually start fighting for Taiki's recognition/attention, and now worries about how Chinatsu is going to do.

And guess what, we began the episode with Hina trying to push herself away from Taiki, to not get in the way of Taiki and Chinatsu, for Chinatsu to start thinking of the opposite (trying to push herself away from Taiki, to not get in the way of Hina) in the end of the episode. I personally think it makes sense, because at the end of the day they aren't that different from each other, so it's kinda interesting they're trying to do the same. At this point, Taiki will end up alone though xD
But I do believe Chinatsu will take more time to abandon this idea, because she really isn't ready to admit that she has feeling for Taiki, but she will understand that eventually.

Also, I loved how they teased a bit of Hina's backstory and family, and we can actually see that she's quite stressed with all the pressure people put on her, for being the daugther of one of the athletes that represented Japan. When she was saying she didn't want to disappoint those people, they showed the back of a man, that I suppose it's her father

All I wish now if for Kyou to receive more screentime in the near future, but I suppose that won't happen next episode. Curious to see how this unusual Love Triangle will develop! Can't wait for the next episode!

Edit: Also wanted to point out that I actually find either Taiki x Chinatsu or Taiki x Hina cute, so I really don't know for who I'm rooting for, now but I guess that I won't worry about it, because I doubt they won't push Chinatsu to be together with Taiki, like, the anime has been about that for the first 5 episodes.

Yeah, there were hints but now it's quite obvious that Hina has feelings for Taiki and this episode was a good way to show us not only how she feels about him but her insecurities and the pressure she puts on herself and tries to overcome with self discipline. Taiki is the salvation for her and with his words of encouragement she overcame her struggles just in time for the qualifiers. Will Chinatsu react to this?

PS: Kyo seems to be the outside view but at the same time the one who has probably figured out how everyone feels about the rest. His takes are few but on point.

Awwww Hina was making me sad all throughout this episode man she’s battling with expectations from adults bc of her dad being a great Japanese gymnasts and her feelings for Taiki and how to go about them since he’s going for Chinatsu, Hina’s lowkey a complex character which I didn’t even think of till now it’s sucks knowing what’s she gonna go through since I’m caught up with the manga☹️☹️☹️☹️

Man I can’t get over the animation bro it’s so fucking crisp and HD like Hina’s eyes and lips were looking amazingly well drawn, Telecom Animation Film is going OFF with this adaptation bro I love it and I can’t wait for the next episode😩🤩🔥

While I was right in that Hina finding out that Taiki and Chinatsu were living together bothered her mentally and affected her rhythm gymnastics she was able to overcome it before the qualifiers so good on her.

Now the love triangle has began and so far from what I understand is that Taiki likes Chinatsu, Hina likes Taiki, and Chinatsu sort of likes Taiki (I say sort of because I don't think she likes him as a bf, at least not yet) but Chinatsu now knows that Hina also likes him and it sounds like Chinatsu may try distancing herself from Taiki...

That's it, Im Team Hina now, I can feel her struggles, the way she works hard and lift herself up alone from all those pressures and expectations, the way she still supports her crush even if it means hurting herself, and that she will fight back even if she has a low chance of winning. Best girl mentality.

Chinatsu-senpai is still only doing this for the basketball, when will be the point where she fall inlove with Taiki too?

@Aleksu Don't worry. Chinatsu and Taiki are sweetest couple in manga.

Usually I'm not a big fan of love triangles but some reason I don't mind it here. I was all for Chinatsu but now I'm starting to have doubts. Excellent episode and it made me like Hina even more than I already did.

It has been a while since I liked both heroines that much. Maybe I never liked both as much as I like Hina and Chinatsu. I think Chinatsu is endgame BUT I like Hina so much, their dynamic is so nice. Kinda reminds me of the love triangle in Oregairu.

Well, that was sad. Doesn’t matter who you cheer for in this series, seeing Hina feeling rejected without even getting a chance to confess her feelings was just purely and simply sad. I mean I never liked the author's style of narrating things, because at the end of the day, all it does is create unnecessary and unneeded misunderstandings. Because you see, the moment this story started heading towards some sort of goal, keeping Taiki and Chinatsu as the front runners…

… Hina got to know the whole thing, which resulted in her feeling dejected and which then resulted in Taiki cheering her up, which, you know, led Chinatsu thinking what she did lol. So yeah, this is the template this series follows, and tbh, this would go on for a good while. It’s very easy to guess how this would all end up, but yeah, for the time being this is just teenagers trying to sort their feelings out. Also hey, we’ll play some sports too every now and then xD
@Softhenic03 just wait there are plenty more episodes to come, and eventualy every somewhat important character will get character development that includes hina

Hina confronting Taiki head-on and letting things slide was unexpected, but I like that a lot

They really made everyone so likable in a short space of time, Haryuu, Kyou and Hina as well

I think this is quickly becoming my favourite for the Fall 2024 season!

Hina is definitely my favorite character! Her drive and dedication are great qualities to see, especially in a female character. I'm interested in her family life, though; I hope we get to see what her dad is like.

I also love that the story doesn't fall into every trap of the genre and either sidesteps tired plot points (i.e. the injury before the competition) or doesn't drag out certain plotlines, like the reveal of Taiki and Chinatsu living together.

Excellent show. But, it kills me that Hina will end up losing (I presume). Dancer girls are prettier than basketball girls. Also, she has the same voice actress as Mikari from Ririsa 2.5D. Can't Chinatsu just move away and let the childhood friend win?

The hard thing about these kind of love-triangle rom-coms is that you know that main lead is going to end up with the female main lead which was introduced first but still you continue to witness the losing heroine's heartbreaks, hardships, tears and the support she provides to the main lead despite herself getting hurt.

Yeah, it stinks. And I highly doubt a harem ending is in the cards, though I would love that outcome.

I'm all in for Hina now.
Even though Chinatsu looks prettier, Personality-wise I like Hina way more than Chinatsu.
Chinatsu is a bit too passive and indifference when it comes to love relationship which makes her kinda boring .
I mean it's good to be friend with people like that, but not very good as a love interest.

@Tanish_k I heard from the author's previous work, the first girl didn't win XD.
Now i have some hope for Hina given how passive Chinatsu is.

Hina the episode. She's way too cute. I love her so much. She made me worried many times during this episode but I'm glad it wasn't anything crazy and she got the first prize in the end and made it into the nationals. She's doing great and I hope she continues to do great in the future. As for Chinatsu, it seems like she feels like she's in the way of these two, the same way Hina feels about Taiki and Chinatsu being together. Amazing episode.

Personally, I'd have a hard time picking between Chinatsu and Hina, but the MC doesn't seem to have the same feeling toward Hina compare to Chinatsu.
Who knows? maybe he found out that he has some feelings toward Hina too? then it will be very interesting.
But for now, I am all for our main couple get together in the end.

We got to know Hina more in this episode, and she really lived up to her character—a strong girl with a fighting spirit who doesn’t back down. I was impressed that she managed to get through the situation on her own, as she always does. But when she truly needed help, Taiki was always there for her, and that’s what made her develop feelings for him.

I absolutely loved this episode! I especially loved seeing Hina's perspective and how she was struggling with the knowledge that Taiki and Chinatsu were living in the same house. It was so moving to see her try to cope with all the pressure. And then Chinatsu's perspective was so interesting too, where she felt like she was just an annoyance to both Taiki and Hina.

I really like this kind of thing, a girl who is forced to act normal to the boy she likes when he likes another girl, a girl who looks closer than herself, that's what Hina felt and i loved it.

This episode was an emotional rollercoaster. From Hina pretending to be strong and focused on her goal, but she couldn't focus and almost dislocated herself and made her very worried and it turned out that it was just her hallucination because she was very afraid of the downfall of her career. That's where Taiki comes in and makes Hina get back up and get back to her career as a Rhythmic Gymnastic.

An episode that focuses on Hina's character, this is my favorite episode so far, but knowing that Hina will not win Taiki's heart also makes me sad. So please put Hina in Makeine lmao.

Its good that Taiki decided to come clean with Hina about Chinatsu. Thinking about it Taikai and Chinatsu have so much in common that they're almost perfect for each other. Im glad that Hina's fall wasn't serious. It was amusing seeing Hina let out her frustrations as well.

Hina is carrying a heavy burden with everyone's expectations on her. Seeing Taiki and Chinatsu supporting each other hit her hard, even if she didn't realize it, her feelings for Taiki go beyond just close friends—great character development. But in the end, she knows she shouldn't feel bad because Taiki will be there for her.

Now we have to see what Chinatsu feels about all this. Kyou is really smart; he knows what's going to happen. He's like the embodiment of us, watching the love triangle unfold.
