Sorry but 8bit might as well cease production and do something else with their time.

The committee or whoever is in control do not have an ounce of care for the series it would seem.

I'd rather take no season 2 than a shit season 2.

There may be hope in the hyped U20 match? I guess, but I don't know, the chances seem slim. And even then, would you really be content with a good U20 adaptation when the start to the season is so soured?

This season is getting its fair share of hate and deservingly so.

Don't work that way it's exactly for not happening what you describe that the whole production committee system is in place regardless the result because it's not just one company pitching money it's multiple and they rather see a contract to it's end that having lawsuits for breaking contracts. You should know this you work as a lawyer.

I don't blame them.
They worked on a lot of shows this year so maybe they're spent or something? I don't wanna get bashed so I can't be too sure.
This is just my take ofc.

Eh even then, it’s their fault for taking on so many projects.

If they released it, knowing this was going to be the result, they should have delayed the project. Wouldn’t have been ideal, but at least we wouldn’t have received this.

Yea, you're right.
They should have delayed it. That would have been a more logical choice y'know.

It's extremely rare for producers to actually care about the work, tho. All that matters is money.

It's not the fault of the studio, but the producers. It's these latter who choose which studio makes their projects. While the studios can of course refuse, they simply just lose a huge opportunity by doing so. The question is, are the producers satisfied by the result ? If yes, they'll probably continue like that. If not, either they'll look for another studio, or just drop the IP.

If only it worked that way.

Even if the current studio drops it because of quality standards, another needy studio will pick it up for the committee. That's just how it is.

Remember Attack on Titan? This is exactly why Wit Studio dropped the show, the committee wanted them to produce the fourth season ASAP.

Yeah, I saw somewhere the director was rushing forward the animation and cutting corners. Obviously his fault. Really sad to see

That's not right either. The director is not cutting frames because he wants to, it's because he's also pressured by the deadline and he has to choose between keeping them in at the risk of them not being polished enough, or cutting them entirely to have the episode still air in time.

Nothing about this is how anime production works. It’s not the animators, it’s not the directors, it’s the production committee. They choose the studio and decide on a timeline, which imposes incredible limitations on what the creative team can do. WIT dropped Attack on Titan because the production committee wanted them to pump out s4 immediately, and JJK suffered from the same thing. So before we start throwing accusations, it’s important to understand how these productions actually work and where the real problems lie.

8bit should've done the same with Blue Lock then. Why accept work on such esteemed series if you know you can't release a good adaptation? It's not like the leadership of the studio is absolved since the production committee is the one to set unrealistic time constraints.

Because if we keep accepting drops in quality and not critique the craft these studios and companies put out they will get comfortable releasing worse and worse products to cut on costs, thinking we'll still 'enjoy' them.

@hich4n_ Bottom line: money. Some studios are more willing to drop and reject projects, many are not. You'll notice I specifically pointed out that it was not the creative team's fault. But I know you know that the driving force in absolutely anything is money. That's all that matters. And we as westerners and our reactions do not affect the production committee, because these shows are not made for us. If the Japanese fan base is enthusiastic and buying merchandise, etc, that's what matters. There is no creative integrity involved above the creative teams.

@brandonmontego69 if it wasn't that bad, people wouldn't be complaining. This quality shouldn't be defended. if you get served shit and complain about it, doesn't mean you're a crybaby.

@eleanorenchanted Well, you actually can complain to an extent...

Currently, both Blue Lock and 8Bit Studio is under Bandai Namco Filmworks, and of course, they have a social media accounts, in which they're using it to promote their shows, including Blue Lock.

So yeah, if y'all want to express your dissatisfaction about the anime, go and flood Bandai Namco Filmworks' social media accounts, especially when they posted something related to Blue Lock, so they know that the show sucks hard (it's better that you complain on their official social media accounts, compared to random sites like this, where people from Bamco definitely won't see, lol).

@LIVI___ what I'm saying is ppl have outrageous standards ppl were already complaining the same way about season 1 don't act all surprised that the animation got worse which it barely got worse only cuz the excessive use of pngs as I said it's watchable and spreading a claim like they should throw away the rest of season 2 is definitely cry baby activity

@brandonmontego69 no, people defending this have outrageously low standards. This needs to be criticised instead of being normalised or it will just motivate the industry that they can produce shit quality product and get away with it. Calling season 2 "barely worse" is an understatement because this season barely has any animation while the prior season was atleast animated.

For me it was absolutely sure 8Bit Studio would do bad animation before the realise of season one. I have kind of bad and funny memories of Rewrite adaptation for that especially the last episodes of last season because they made literally .png images move up and down for simulating a walking animation. First and last time I saw something so lazy in this industry. So yeah... I don't even finished Blue Lock S1. Episode Nagi (movie) haved the same treatment. And now, it seems S2 is even worse. Just a 8Bit Studio thing, I guess.

It's really a shame since Blue Lock have great potential for a phenomenal sport anime. I wish IG Production or Madhouse takes care of the series, or at least studios behind Major adaptations. Just one which is veteran in sport adaptation.
