You really need to give this anime the 3 episodes rule, I promise you won't regret it! The first episode is just setting things up for the plot to develop!

@mydaddy

Sure, take your time! Just don't drop it after this 1st episode only, this anime is rising steadily in popularity, and it's for a good reason!

i think you must try 3 episode for this anime.. then if you feel bad, just dropped it..

because for me and some others, after episode 3 the story is better and better.

FYI if you like historical, realistic story you will like this..

If the main message of the show resonates with you (geocentrism vs heliocentrism, blind faith vs scientific facts, to be brief), then I would suggest you watch at least till end of epiosde 3. If you like it till then then continue watching, otherwise drop it.

Just chill and treat it like a period piece. You'll know whether you'll get hooked by three episodes, or even mildly interested

@PokefanPT For the people who use this rule, is 3 episodes enough for a show that´s going to be 25 episodes long?

I had to apply nearly 50 episode rule for Gintama, so this is just something that got popular with anime original shows like Madoka

@Dan_ALves This anime specifically has its first pay-off at 3 episodes. So that's why people recommend to stick it out at least that long. You'll get a good feeling for what the story is trying to do at that point.

@Laplace_kun I just ask because I never use this rule, If I decide to watch something, I´m watching it to the end, but for a two cours show you should give at least half the episodes a chance, I´d say. If a show is 20-25 episodes and by episode 10-12 you haven´t been grabbed yet, then by all means drop it. But to just give it 3 eps (or less) doesn´t sound smart.

PS: Really, it took you 50 for Gintama?

@Ash_li In this one in particular, I agree. But there are shows, Steins Gate being very famous for it, where they pay-off only comes after 12 episodes. If people are only giving 3 episodes (lets even stretch it to 5/6), they might be missing on something great. Sure they can always comeback and finish it later if it turns out amazing, but there´s something special about following a cool show weekly.

I also end up watching the entirety of an anime, when I pick one to watch, even if I'm not liking it that much. But I know that a lot of people don't have the patience/time for that, and end up applying the 3 episode rule, because it ends up working for the majority of the anime, even if it's 2 cours (because in reality, many 2-cour animes could be 1 + 1 cour, only a few of them don't really work like that). I recommended using that rule for this anime, because it REALLY works for this anime!

@PokefanPT I guess I can see your point. I would say at least 5 episodes, but again, I don´t follow this rule, so I´m not the right person to say what others should do.

@Laplace_kun 50 is the reason I hate and will never watch Gintama. Some episodes are good but 50 till the "plot" kicks in is insufferable.

@Malisa90 I'm aware gintama is good and people love it but not every show is made for everyone I've tried countless to watch it,I don't like, but one I hate when people criticize or critique they give a show a 1 without going into its good points, I don't like it, but it's amazing for what it's done

@mydaddy Giving any show a 1 without finishing it is idiotic. I have never rated a show that I have dropped even if it does deserves a 1.

That said I find it strange that OP found this boring in the second half of the episode, I just can't understand the logic. At first he said he found it interesting but then at the same time not really. Also finding this show "generic" in the sea of Isekai, awful shonens and horny slop that we get served every season is absolutely laughably insane to me.

Bro the premise and setting is Heliocentrism vs the Church 15th century Poland. With a unique show like this in a vast ocean of cookie cutter isekai, how could this feel generic at any point…
