I wouldn't think about it, if it's going to be 12/13 episodes, assuming they're going to sell this to the seasonal anime market, like generic isekai for example then they'll probably cover as much as possible to milk it as much as possible. Although such a strategy might be too much effort considering that they are going to milk it, the quality of what they make is not important to them.
In both cases, since I don't know much about the pacing of the adaptation compared to the original, I would say that if they had super quality (which they obviously don't have, talk about the quality of adapting the story) maybe by some miracle and cut content they could push to the fight with the elderwood guardian and maintain viewership, if they don't have super quality but average (which I hope but we can't be sure about that either) then I think it would take at least 24 episodes to get to that fight, maybe more if we're talking about quality (quality in the sense of less cut content) adaptation (and maybe I'm wrong and maybe it needs much, much less). If they have at least average quality and if they are planning a second season then they could stop at the Cynthia vs Arthur fight either shortly before or after it.
How much will be adapted depends on many factors such as the goals of the company, the amount of the author's influence, the motivation and skill of the staff (who works on directing the story) and of course the budget.
Of course everything I said could be completely wrong.

@vesamija8 I do agree with most of what you said luckily we are getting 2 cours of this so 24 episodes but yeah the pacing and quality does matter to where it would go I guess. Honestly I’m just hoping it is enjoyable at the very least. As long as they can keep the foundation of the story I think even tbate fans can still enjoy the anime much as the web manga or maybe even the light novel.

I lost my hope for a Faithful adaptation of TBATE anime.The studio is just shit.....If they can't animate why bother taking it. it is beyond their means.....They just ruin the show

@HASINISHRAQ6 I think we should give it a chance. The director is good and the author is working with them. The studio does have that one demon anime that wasn’t too bad. And I agree their record isn’t the best. But the trailer was actually really good. I think we should give them a chance! Or if we don’t what if we don’t get another season? We lucky enough to get two cours! Plus the art at the beginning of the series was already not the greatest. So let’s say the art isn’t that good in the anime maybe season 2 will be picked up by a different studio or if this one does really good maybe the studio will do even better and have third party’s help! This will become the best anime of all time eventually if not the first season!

Being 24 episodes across 2 seasons I'd say the first season will cover up to Note and then the second season will cover up to Ellie's birthday.
