Why are so many potential anime being taken over by bad animation studios? Why don't you let a good studio work on it? I know that the good studios are very busy with other anime, but why not wait longer and let a good animation studio take over to fully exploit the potential

Much of the blame lies with the owner of the rights to the original, who sold the rights to the first person who wanted to buy them, probably very cheap lol.

It is worth remembering that the publisher changed the illustrator because they wanted to reduce his salary, but he did not accept.

Wallahi! we're finished.

Studio A-CAT hasn't mustered a single banger and they've copped a gem.

production committee x greed. the og illustrator leaving says a lot.

and not even an animation producer has been announced. I'm guessing it's typical A-cat anip, which would be quite avg at best.

I feel like it is important to note that Fuyuki, the original artist, was never fired, he left. Now that was a result of a payment structure change at Tapas, but it is not explicitly stated to be a reduction in pay. This may mean a reduction in pay, in fact I myself suspect it to be, but it is not confirmed to be so. Source? Fuyuki's instagram.

Maybe they got big budget, a lot of time and maybe they have hired talented freelancers for it. I wouldnt write it off just yet.

Bruh the director’s most famous works are school days and date a live so I don’t think it will have a big budget

I read somewhere that TBATE’s author is American and the series is written in English (thats why the manhwa doesn’t have an entry on mal) and because of that I’m assuming its not popular in japan and korea and i think thats why we don’t have a bigger studio animating the series because it would generate much profit in japan.

If TBATE will be in Mali (I know it's unlikely) we fans have to make sure there are a lot of members, high rating!!!

@youssef_fathy200 I also see that he worked on Persona 3 Movie 3, Case Closed and Legend Of The Galactic Heroes and a lot and i mean a looot of the other, sure no name, but shows nontheless so he is an experienced veteran. Lets at least see a few episodes before we start shitting on it, okay?

For a series as big and popular as tbate you would expect it to have a bigger studio and director animating the series just like solo leveling and as you said the anime you mentioned are not big names and don’t have crazy animation.

@youssef_fathy200 I don't understand all this fuss about Solo leveling, after all they did a very mediocre job for that product too although superior to other webtoon adaptations

I don’t exactly know what is a good animation for you but i think a-1 pictures did solid work in solo leveling the art style was good, the music was spot on and the animation was so smooth and nice but if you expect to have some flashy animation that you would find in ufotable works like demon slayer and fate a-1 pictures is not gonna give you that.

@Oongbuh Not at all, they made the narrative much worse with filler scenes that didn't lead anywhere and they cut other very interesting scenes that should have been transposed instead, in addition to the fact that they failed to do justice to the incredible art of the manhwa at all, it almost seemed like a lazy job most of the time, not even Sawano's music was that brilliant in this anime

@youssef_fathy200 Shows like Frieren, Heavenly Delusion or the recent Dandadan are examples of anime with very good animation. I repeat, it almost seems like the fandom nowadays is satisfied with mediocrity: the artistic style was good? But they made one of the most generic and banal character designs possible, so much so that it seemed to have come out of a seasonal isekai because of how disappointing it was. The perfect music? Apart from the OST of episode 6 "dark aria" which really raised the moment of the scene and which was also proposed in ep 12, I don't understand how the music would be perfect in this anime, definitely one of Sawano's worst works, given that for the most part there weren't even any worthy OSTs to accompany the situation, but only a mix of songs that you don't even remember because they were so anonymous except maybe 1 or 2. The animation so fluid and beautiful? I could agree for the last 2 episodes where you could see real peaks of sakuga, but for the most part the animation was very disappointing, just watch the episode the battle between Jinwoo vs the hunters to see how badly animated it was (which by the way they also cut the fact that the hunters were supposed to be 8 but they made them 6 because I don't know). For Solo leveling you expect a demon slayer level at least given how much the art of manhwa is appreciated and if A1 pictures wasn't capable of making it then they shouldn't have done it in the first place the anime, which in reality made well animated products, for example Sao, Love is war, Lycoris recoil... in fact seeing Solo leveling so disappointing as a production was very sad, lmao

@Leon888 Bruh i can see that you are really frustrated with the adaptation lol
anyway as i said the adaption was solid and and i’m not saying it was the best and i was actually expecting more tbh but saying its mediocre is an overstatement and i can agree with you on some points you mentioned however I can’t agree with you on the music I really liked the music and it kept me excited throughout most of the episodes overall i would give the adaption a 8/10.
By the way i like frieren’s animation so much and i think its one of the best series when it comes to animation, frieren is goated.

Because it was the line producer of A-Cat who was approved by the production committee which for something like this the real question you should ask yourself it's which studio were running because to air next year that decision was made years ago so it's to late for you to complain. Minimum it was 2 years ago and maximum who knows maybe 4 to 5 years also you should check the timeslot and station it air it's a great way to know how much trust that project get.

Yeah, now I know you're bullshiting. Maybe stop being one of those that judges adaptations by how much "they look like the manga" and not the fact, that you know, it was good in general.

@youssef_fathy200 Aside from the art style that didn't do justice to the paper counterpart (which is really strange considering that if you watch the opening you really see the potential that this series could have given, but the episodes weren't that superb), the biggest problem was the questionable directorial choices by the staff, just to say a common criticism was the fact that they didn't end episode 1 with that statue smile (I would have made episode 1 45 minutes long to fit everything in without interrupting it) which was a scene that many were waiting to see in the finale, or even stretching everything out with things that although they seemed important in the end aren't (I preferred how he handled the characters in the manhwa, many S-rank hunters like Cha in, you introduced them later in the story and actually shrouded them in mystery), as well as the pacing that in many moments was horrible, ep 11 for example in the battle against Igris they interrupted it 5 times to show filler scenes that were useless ☠️. Ultimately I don't consider it a solid adaptation at all, in fact I think it made everything worse, especially the fun in seeing many animated scenes that should have been done better, such as the fight between Jinwwo vs the class B hunter

@Oongbuh Why should I? If I read something then I expect to see a similar level in the animated adaptation, which is something that Solo Leveling failed to do, just look at the character designs, among the most banal and generic possible, it almost seemed to come out of a usual seasonal isekai trash, while in the manhwa they were very well defined, in addition to the fact that it is not only the technical component that disappoints, but also the dubious directorial choices that this show brought, ultimately I know that many people do not care about these things because they watch anime with their brains turned off and therefore settle for mediocrity, but for someone who really understands how much potential it could offer and how disappointing the final result was, this thing did not go down well, maybe you will understand when you are more mature

If this ends up being just like "Tower of God," I might stop watching this manhwa-to-anime adaptation altogether. This manhwa has the potential to be one of the best isekai ever, and now it seems a dogshit studio is handling it. wah-wah-wah

haven't watched any of the animes from this studio, but they all have nice cover arts that look appealing. This will be my first anime from them, I believe they could make a banger with this considering it got the nicest cover art of them all. I have no idea what this anime will be about, but heard good things about it and that it's similar to Mushoku Tensei one of my favorites so I'm hyped. Also apparently I have few of their other animes already on plan to watch.
