the official hair color for Ranko (female Ranma) is black, just like male Ranma. Rumiko stated her hair color in multiple interviews and it is shown in the first manga volume.

The reason why the hair color is red in the original anime is because Rumiko, most of the time, painted her color red in volume covers and in magazine covers. Not because it was her real color but most likely to make a difference between Ranko and Ranma and for aesthetics.

If you see closely, in each manga volume Ranko's hair color changes (red, yellow, purple, orange, blue, green, pink)

@MeherabHB There is nothing defined for now, so nobody knows how many episodes there will be in this season. All that is known is that 12 episodes of this season were leaked, that is, it may be a season of + 12 episodes, but it is just speculation for now. Nothing defined yet.

@Akanekino They mainly censored the nipples, I honestly don't care about censorship, but it's up to each person, but I saw that most Ranma½ fans hated the censorship. As long as it has good comedy, I'm happy with this reboot.

@utopia- I hate censorship in general, honestly I'm fine if they don't shop nipples in some other new anime, but when it's done on the reboot of anime which originally had them then I'm pissed cuz it's supposed to be ecchi anime. I don't know what is with new animes these days scared of showing this stuff when it's already a ecchi anime. Anyway I will actually watch it since I don't even remember anymore how original rly was with these nipples, I know that it had it just not sure how it looked and it's better that I don't since then I can actually enjoy new one then when I don't look for exact scene.

@Akanekino In my case, the only type of censorship I hate is when they censor bleeding/gore scenes, where they try to tone down a brutal scene in some anime. In the case of ecchi, I don't care because if I wanted to watch ecchi anime I would just look for hentai to watch instead, but in my case I don't really like ecchi and even less hentai.

Since you don't remember much about the previous version of ranma½, you might not care about this.

yea i saw the original had like 100+ episodes ig. So it would be great to see an anime releasing 100+ episodes in present time cuz u know nowadays they only release 12 or 24 episodes so i kinda miss the old anime vibe.

yea i saw the original had like 100+ episodes ig. So it would be great to see an anime releasing 100+ episodes in present time cuz u know nowadays they only release 12 or 24 episodes so i kinda miss the old anime vibe.

@MeherabHB I honestly hope this Ranma½ reboot can make more than 100 episodes, In fact, there are great chances, it will depend on how this anime is sold on the market, we have great chances just because it is on Netflix, It is already an "advantage" compared to the rest, but it depends a lot on its success in the market as well.

The original anime's nipples were drawn but they were the same colour as the rest of the skin. My brother watched the remake and didn't notice the censorship because he totally forgot the original had nipples since they weren't that noticeable XD

I'm looking forward to complete adaptation this time, mainly interested in Akane and how romance develops with her and some fights. Apparently adaptation is pretty faithful shot to shot with nice animation, just hope they do it fully unlike Urusei Yatsura which got remake and again stopped almost same as original I heard.

What happened with Urusei Yatsura was that it did adapt the manga from beginning to end, but skipping around half of the manga chapters. A lot of one's favourite arcs could be missed that way so I hope they don't do the same with this remake. People just don't wanna watch long anime anymore :(
