So what exactly is Ichibei's (SPOILER)? Need some clarification

I am a bit confused as to what exactly is Futen Taisatsu Ryo? An 8 yr old reddit thread (link: https://www.reddit.com/r/bleach/comments/59v7ze/about_futen_taisatsuryo/ ) says that it's a type of Kido. But I was wondering if could be a part of his Shikai or Bankai?

It would be great if manga readers could provide some clarification on this. Thanks.

It would be wrong to say it's Kido, I think. It is a spell of his Shikai, like how Kyoraku has Kageoni as a spell of his Katen Kyokotsu. Ichibe's Bankai is specifically the power to change names, while the manipulation of the color black is what his Shikai does. You can see after Yhwach opens his eyes in the latest episode, Ichimonji returned back to its Shikai form, so Futen Taisatsu Ryo at the very least can't be part of Shirafude Ichimonji.

It's obviously a Zanpakuto technique. Has the same theming with the heavy black/white symbolism and (re)creating and erasing concepts. Feels too metaphysical to be Kido anyway.

honestly with ichibe being one of the oldest people in the verse I think it's just some eldritch power he learned along the way. like a super ancient technique or something he made himself.

There are two phases to ichibes zanpaktou and I'll try to explain it

his shikai doesn't entirely do much, realistically its just used as a activation condition for the bankai, it basically allows him to put "black" and anyone who has been put under the black of his shikai is automatically under the effect of his bankai

his bankai allows him to change the name of anything that has black or has been painted by black, allowing him to conceptual change you. meaning if he puts black on you and wants you breath like a fish he can, and then kanji for the thing he wants you to be willing appear on you, conceptually making you that thing. Yhwach was given the kanji for ant allowing which in theory is supposed to make him an ant, but for multiple reasons it didn't work

the domain expansion is also a part of his bankai but we have no real idea what it does pass just erasing your existence
