| I'm not in the mood for a review but let's just say that, in comparssion with the first part, this one didn't gave me the same or equal feeling that once maked me watch all the episodes in one run but i think that this last episode could catch the same thing of an emotional longing that is the name 86 in my head. This thing called get me in tears, hah :') I know it's risky to think this way over just a few seconds but well, this is what makes a great show in the end. |

| I liked the season less than the first, but the last episode is wonderful Their meeting was so sweeeeeeeet |
| OKAY these 2 last episodes saved the season. FINALLY THEY MET, and in the most perfect way possible. One of that moments of Anime that i will keep remembering. 9/10 |

| pretty nice ending, tho i was hoping for more deaths since s1 rocked us with so many (major chars, not just minor cannon fodder) surprisingly the republic werent all wiped off since most of em cant really do much was also weird how lena could casually walk onto a major battle against that railgun so easily also dont get how the last part ended, how they were all miraculously saved, we saw shin get his head taken as the very last scene iirc |

| Definitely think the last episode got it back on-track. Was a bit worried that they were sending Shin down a Shinji Ikari-esque mental quagmire finish, but they quickly changed course and got him back to the character he should be. Really glad they held us hanging on for that meet-up scene at the end. Was a bit confused though, and it might just be me remembering incorrectly, but isn't Lena supposed to know what Spearhead all look like after finishing the annotated photograph that Theoto left for her? I was expecting her to react instantly to seeing them, and then, had to wait for Shin to introduce himself. Maybe I am remembering wrongly! |
| I've been listening to the OPs & EDs for a few days since finishing this series and they're hitting so much differently as the weight of this saga sinks in. The first part of the series kept the story locked in tunnel vision, limiting it to a seemingly hopeless struggle towards certain doom. In this cour, the world expands as does what's at stake. Whereas Part 1 felt like inevitable despair, this season brought out a hope that's both agonizingly precious. The core members of Spearhead are beginning to discover a place to belong beyond the battlefield - as well as the heavy heart that comes with the risk of losing it. Shin's internal struggle was a hell of a rollercoaster, with the previous episode being my personal peak for the series. It's making me to want to go back and pick up on more of the cues leading to his breakdown. The lack of Lena's presence in this season really strengthened her role as moral support for Shin, clearing the way for him each time he's reached a definitive dead end. The way this story has been developing makes it feel like this was all just one giant prologue. The source of these various abilities, the Nouzen clan, the hierarchy of the Legion. It all feels like only the surface has been scratched. While I'm tempted to give the LNs a go, I'll try to hold out a bit longer in the hopes of a continuation. Either way, I'm at least content with the way the themes have come full circle to this open ending. This is a story I hope to carry with me & return to once more. I won't forget. I won't forget. I won't forget. 9/10 On another note, 86 really did remind me of Angel Beats (especially part 1). Glad I saw other people make the connection in the recommendations. |
