He uses this power to save his new friends from assassins, dangerous magical beasts and the fanatical Witch's Cult. Along the way, he makes new friends, and find out that there are others that he never should have trusted to begin with. I'm starting this thread a day early, because I just binged the first 2 seasons and wrote a synopsis, for anyone interested in reading it before beginning season 3 Recap of Season 1 Subaru Natsuki, a Japanese NEET, is transported to a fantasy world where he meets Emilia, a half-elf who is taking part in a set of trials to become the next ruler of the Country of Luginica. The trials were set up when the former royal family, which had contracted with the Divine Dragon to protect the country, all mysteriously died. When Subaru first meets Emilia, she saves him from some robbers, and he is immediately smitten with her. He tries to help her recover the crest which is her symbol as a participant in the royal trials, but is killed by an assassin who paid to have the crest stolen from Emilia. Subaru learns that when he is killed, his life resets to a prior point. This allows him to help Emilia avert the assassin and recover her crest, but he is gravely wounded in the battle. Subaru wakes up, with his wounds healed, in the mansion of Roswaal Mathers, the Mangrave of a domain and Emilia’s backer in the Royal trials. Subaru meets several eccentric characters. His first encounter is with Beatrice, who appears to be a small girl guarding a library which she can magically hide behind any door in the mansion, only to be entered by people she allows to enter, however, Subaru seems to be able to enter whenever he pleases, much to Beatrice’s displeasure. He then meets the Oni sisters, Rem and Ram, Rem being the soft-spoken, capable, younger sister with blue hair and Ram being the harsh, incapable older sister with pink hair. Subaru asks to serve in the mansion as his reward for helping Emilia. He begins to die several times and loop back, desperate to find out why he is dying. He first dies in his sleep, then several times he is killed by Rem, as she tells him he smells of the Witch Satella, whom Rem hates due to her village being slaughtered by a cult devoted to worshiping Satella. Subaru approaches Beatrice to guard him from being killed, but finds instead that Rem ends up dead with Ram blaming him. As he runs from Ram, Beatrice explains to him that it was a curse that killed him the first time and then Rem after Beatrice protected him. Subaru jumps to his death in order to loop back and save Rem. He deduces that the curse must be cast by someone in the nearby village. Eventually he finds out the curse comes from being bitten by a Magical beast (mabeast), and with the help of Rem, Ram and Roswaal he defeats the magical beasts After saving the mansions residents and villagers from the mabeasts, Subaru accompanies Emilia back to the Capital when she is summoned for the Royal Trial. It is revealed that the girl from the slums who stole Emilia’s crest, Felt, is eligible to take part in the trials as well. She is backed by Reinhard, a very powerful Royal Knight who helped Subaru and Emilia defeat the assassin, Elsa. Subaru also meets the 3 other candidates as well: Anastasia, a merchant who can be devious, but is willing to help for the right price. Priscilla, a haughty and violent woman who looks down on most everyone else and Crusch, a woman who dresses as a man and values honor and principles. During the ceremony introducing Felt as a candidate, Felt’s legitimacy, as well as Emilia’s are questioned. Subaru learns that Emilia’s status as a half-elf and her very appearance remind everyone of the Witch of Envy Satella, who is hated by the entire world for a disaster happening 400 years prior. Subaru confronts the entire audience and panel of examiners to defend Emilia, but she finds his outburst more troubling than helpful and admonishes him. Emilia leaves Subaru in the capital after their disagreement, where he is to have his magical gate healed by one of Crusch’s attendants, Felix, a feminine looking cat person, who is actually male, and the most talented healer in the Royal Knights. Rem, who stayed with Subaru informs him that she senses trouble through her telepathic connection to Ram. Subaru reaches the village and mansion to find everyone killed by the Witch’s Cult. Roswaal is absent from the mansion, as he is on a trip to visit other nobles. Subaru begins another cycle of death loops trying to save the village and mansion residents. Several times he is killed by Puck for failing to save Emilia, one of these times being when she is killed after he reveals to her his power of Return By Death, which is apparently a power given to him by the Witch of Envy and punishes him whenever he tries to reveal it to others. He tries to gain the help of the other Royal Candidates several times, but is rejected by them because they do not want to help their rival in the trials. During these loops, Rem encourages Subaru not to give up and confesses her love to him, but he insists that Emilia is the one he loves. Eventually Subaru is able to win the support of Crusch by offering her information on the White Whale, who has terrorized the world for 400 years. Subaru himself encountered the White Whale and found out that those it killed vanished from the memories of everyone but himself. Anastasia also lends them the help of her private army. Wilehelm von Astrea, one of Crusch’s attendants, leads the attack on the White Whale, vowing to avenge his wife whom had been the most powerful warrior in the kingdom and died fighting the whale years before. Interestingly Wilehlm shares the same family name as Reinhard who helped save Emilia and Subaru from the assassin Elsa, and who is now backing Felt in the Royal Trial. After defeating the White Whale, Crusch, an injured Rem and much of Crusch’s army return to the Capital with the prize of the whale’s head, while Subaru, Felix and part of Anastasia’s private army go to the Mather’s domain to confront the Witch’s Cult. Among the force, is a Royal Knight, and backer of Anastasia, Julius, whom Subaru created a rivalry with after seeing him kiss Emilia’s hand and thinking that Julius was looking down on him. The force backing Subaru begin to hunt down the leader of the Witch’s Cult, Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti. Petelgeuse has a power called “unseen hands”, which only Subaru can see, these hands give Petelgeuse the power to tear anyone apart. Despite killing Petelgeuse, they find that he can transfer his soul into other members of his cult, and even Subaru. After Subaru goes through several death loops, and mends his relationship with Julius, he is able to use his ability to see the “unseen hands” to help Julius defeat Petelgeuse, and then use his punishment for revealing “return by death” against Petelgeuse. Before battling the Witch’s Cult, Subaru and his party sent half of the villagers to a place called “The Sanctuary” in the Mather’s domain. The other half, including Emilia, are sent towards the Capital. Subaru learns that there are explosives in the wagon that Emilia is riding in and he rushes to save her and the children from the village. He is assisted by Otto, a merchant whom has helped him in many of his death loops while fighting the Witch’s Cult. Subaru is able to save Emilia and confess his love to her, which she does not reject. Recap of Season 2 Season 2 begins right where Season 1 ended. Subaru has just confessed his love to Emilia, and one of the village children, Petra, starts a rivalry with Emilia over Subaru’s love. Subaru then tells Emilia that Rem has confessed her love to him, to which Emilia replies, “Who is Rem?” A flashback shows that Crusch and Rem’s caravan was attacked by two other Archbiships of the Witch’s Cult. One of them has the power to eat people’s memories, causing them to lose their memories, and the ability to eat their name, causing them to become comatose and for everyone to forget them. Rem has both her memories and name eaten, and Crusch has her memories eaten. From that point on, only Subaru remembers Rem. After Crusch resolves that she will continue her alliance with Emilia’s faction, Emlia, Otto, Subaru and the comatose Rem all return to the Mather’s Mansion. At the mansion, they meet the part-beast woman Frederica, who was a maid at Roswaal’s mansion who left before Subaru’s arrival. She was asked to return by Ram. Petra, a child from the village who professed her love for Subaru had also become an apprentice under Frederica. Beatrice tells Subaru that he and Emilia must go to the Sanctuary to meet Ram and Roswaal, and as they leave, Frederica warns them to be wary of someone named Garfiel. Garfiel ends up being Frederica’s half brother and is also part beast. As they approach the Sanctuary, Emilia is struck unconscious, and Subaru is teleported by the crystal that Frederica gave them. Subaru ends up at a ruin in the forest; upon entering the ruin, Subaru is transported to a hilly, grassy plain and meets a well dressed woman, who tells him she is the Witch of Greed, Echidna (pronounced Eki-donna). To her surprise, Subaru is neither frightened of her, nor wants to use her vast knowledge, but leaves her to find Emilia. It is revealed that the inhabitants of the Sanctuary are holding the villagers, who took refuge from the Witch’s Cult, hostage. The barrier traps all of those with half-blood, including Emilia, inside. To break the barrier, a half-blood must pass the trials, at the ruins where Subaru met Echidna. Roswaal attempted the trials, but was injured and rejected because he was not half blood. At first Subaru wants Emilia to pass the trials, because he thinks it will endear here to the villagers who fear her and her resemblance to Satella. Subaru, himself was given permission by Echidna to take the trials He has already passed the first trial, by confronting his past, where it was revealed his own expectations of living up to his father’s reputation weighed him down and made quit going to school. Despite his desire for his parents to reject him, they instead supported him. After convincing the Sanctuary inhabitants to free the villagers, Subaru returned to the mansion, where he was attacked and killed by Elsa, the assassin from the time Emilia’s crest was stolen. This caused Subaru to begin another cycle of return by death loops. During these cycles, Subaru learned that Elsa and another party were hired by someone with knowledge of the mansion to kill Frederica, Petra and Beatrice. After finding out that Roswaal had known about the attack by the Witch’s Cult all along, and did nothing because he wanted Subaru to figure it out, he also learned that Roswaal hired Elsa to attack the mansion. He was also responsible for a snowstorm that blanketed the sanctuary and attracted thousands of killer rabbits. Roswaal proclaimed that his actions were all for one person, the woman he loved, and he was trying to back Subaru into a corner, so that he would ignore everyone but Emilia. Subaru challenged Roswaal, that if he were able to save everyone, Roswaal would cease trying to back Subaru into a corner. During various cycles, Subaru met with witches other than Echidna, in the ruins. Daphne, the witch of Gluttony told him about the three mabeasts she created: The White Whale, The Black Serpent, and The Great Rabbit. The Great Rabbit was the thousands of killer rabbits that were attracted by the snow storm created by Roswaal. Typhon, the Witch of Pride, who judges good and evil with childlike naivete. Minerva, the Witch of Wrath, who claims to be angry and violent, but loves the entire world and desires to protect it. Echidna proposes a contract with Subaru, to bring him the best ending, but Minerva warns him not to trust Echidna. After rejecting Echidna’s offer, Subaru and the group of witches are confronted by Satella in a misty form. Instead of attacking them, she tells Subaru that he needs to love himself, and implores him to stop suffering by using his return by death ability. It is revealed that 400 years before present, Echidna was living with Beatrice, a small elf named Ryuzu and Roswaal, all of who worshiped her. She was trying to create a barrier for the Sanctuary to keep out dangers who would attack her. Ryuzu ended up sacrificing herself to a crystal to complete the barrier, and clones of Ryuzu would maintain the barrier. Beatrice and Roswaal were both given books that resembled the Gospels of the Witch’s Cult. They both claimed to use these books to guide all of their actions. Beatrice made a contract with Echidna to guard the library until an unspecified person came to relieve her, but her book ended up being blank leaving her at a loss for who the person would be, when the would come, or anything she should do with her life other than guard the library. Roswaal’s book helped him deduce that Subaru had a power to return by death. One of the Ryuzu clones broke their contract to maintain the barrier by rescuing Garfiel from the ruins when he was still a child. Garfiel got stuck in the ruins after failing the first trial to confront his past, when he saw the carriage of his mother, whom he thought abandoned him in the sanctuary, crushed under rocks. He did not resent his mother for abandoning him, but thought that his existence as a half-blood hampered her ability to live a happy life. When he thought she had died after being able to finally live happy, he began to fear leaving the barrier, and was trying to stop anyone from taking the trials. Eventually he took the first trial again, and learned that his mother was not abandoning him, but going to look for his father. After accepting his past, he resolved to follow Subaru and oppose Roswaal. Puck has been absent since the battle against the Witch’s Cult, but Subaru convinces him to help them. It is revealed that he has sealed Emilia’s memories. He finally appears before Emilia again and says it is time to leave her and then unlocks her memories, so that she can confront the first trial. In the first trial Emilia is accompanied by Echidna to witness her past. She sees herself as a small child who is sequestered in a forest with other elves. She is taken care of by her aunt, Fortuna, whom she treats as a mother. She is often hidden away in a room when outsiders come into the forest. One of those outsiders turns out to be a young Petelgeuse, who brings supplies to the elves. He seems to be very close with Fortuna. Eventually Emilia escapes her hiding place to meet Petelgeuse and they form a fast friendship, encouraged by Fortuna. One day, an Archbishop of the Witch’s Cult confronts them, lead by the witch Pandora. In order to fight them, Petelgeuse is forced to use the witch factor of Greed which he has kept in a box. Pandora tricks him into killing Fortuna, which drives him mad. Emilia in a rage freezes the forest, but fails to kill Pandora. After accepting her past and passing the first trial, Emilia eventually confronts the second trial, where she sees herself in a present that does not exist, living happily with Fortuna and Petelgeuse. She is tempted by the trial to stay there and live happily, but she rejects that reality in order to help in the true present. Her rejection causes Echidna to cry and proclaim how much she detests Emilia. Emilia passes the third trial, where she is show many possible futures, most of them ending in tragedy. Emilia then breaks the barrier, but leaves the ruin to find the Sanctuary covered in snow. While Emilia is passing the third trial, Subaru has taken Garfiel and Otto to the mansion to save Frederica, Rem and Petra. There they find out that Meili, a little girl from the village was also helping Elsa attack the mansion with her ability to control mabeasts. While fighting the mabeast, the mansion is set ablaze. Elsa, being a vampire, is nearly indestructible, but when Meili is about to be crushed by falling debris, she is distracted, wanting to go save Meili. Instead Meili is saved by Frederica, who has transformed into her beast form, and Elsa is distracted enough that Garfiel can crush her under a hippo like mabeast that Meili was controlling. Also, happening at the same time, Roswaal has gone to the crystal containing the original Ryuzu to start the spell that brings the snow. Ram confronts him, with the help of Puck who has transferred his spirit into one of the crystals given to Garfiel and Frederica by their mother. They fight Roswaal, and Ram declares her love for Roswaal, even though it is revealed that she knew Roswaal was behind the attack on her village. Although Roswaal has used her for most of her life, and she hated him at first, she grew to love him, and wants to break him of his obsession with Echidna. Ram is able to steal Roswaal’s book and burn it, but the show still begins to fall. Subaru went to save Beatrice from the burning mansion. Beatrice asks Subaru if he is “that person”, and when he says he is not, Beatrice refuses to leave. Subaru rejects the entire concept of the contract that Beatrice made with Echidna. However, Subaru convinces her that he is still there for her and she decides to leave with him. Beatrice, Subaru and Emilia all confront and defeat the Great Rabbit, saving the Sanctuary, and possibly the whole world. Beatrice and Roswaal visit Echidna’s grave, where Roswaal confides in Beatrice, that original Roswaal who fell in love with Echidna has transferred his soul for 400 years through all of his ancestors. He still vows to resurrect Echidna, but also keep his deal with Subaru. |

The first 2 seasons were so good, including the OP and ED of the first half of season 1. I will say, Subaru's whining did get a little old a few times after binging it, and it did take the drama filled conversations a little far at times. |

Saw the first four episodes already. I guess they were shown somewhere and, of course, they leaked. Anyway, they were pretty good--especially the fourth one--except for one scene where Subaru does some stuff that was baffling and frustrating to watch. And to start off this season, it's a triple-length episode. To make room for it, Sengoku Youko takes a week off while Do-Over Damsel starts next week. This season will be the most unusual of split-cours as it will air for 8 episodes at the start of the fall, while airing for 8 more at the back end of the winter season. In the 10 weeks in-between, it looks like it will air a rebroadcast of the first half with the first episode airing for three weeks. Episode 51 It has been one year since the end of the Sanctuary Arc that had Natsuki and Emilia overcoming their pasts to move forward, as well as to get Subaru to rely less on Return by Death to bail him out of a bad situation. And now, the focus shifts back to the candidates for the ruler of Lugunica, and in particular Anastasia and her camp that includes Julius and Mimi as Subaru and company travel to Priestella, this show's version of Venice, which is not too far away from Anastasia's hometown of Kararagi. After getting there, Subaru goes off and meets the bard Liliana, and then Emilia has a chance encounter with the Sin Archbishop of Greed Regulus. Afterwards they meet up with Reinhard and Rachins from Felt's camp. Then they meet up with Crusch's camp again before getting down to business, which is to take down the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, Roy. Then they take in the hospitality from the hot springs baths to the massage chair as this place has it all from Japan. And then Reinhard's father Heinkel shows up all drunk and causing trouble as she was brought in by Priscilla. There's an estate dispute as thanks to a mistake that Wilhelm made, Heinkel ends up joining Priscilla's camp and has no intention of passing on his estate to Reinhard since he's part of Felt's camp. Then Priscilla enjoys some music by Liliana, which is the first save point in this arc as he was killed by the archbishop Sirius after she tortures and kills Lusbel, and with her mind control ability can transfer the emotion of pain to others, which causes everybody watching her to die. It has been quite a long time since the other candidates showed up, especially Priscilla who barely appeared in this show. Felt was important in the Insignia arc, while Crusch and Anastasia were import characters in the Witch's Cult arc, all while Priscilla hasn't had much imvolvement. And of course, the Sanctuary arc focused solely on Emilia's camp. And now Subaru is ready to do things the right way, but once again the ending goes to show that the Archbishops aren't to be taken on lightly. Anyway, there's quite a lot of setup and it's no wonder why they wanted things to start off with what is essentially a movie before getting down to the nitty gritty. |

That episode has the weird feeling of not very much happening, but also a tremendous amount happening. For the first 10-15 minutes, I was worried this season might be a let down, but the rest of the episode was pretty darn good. I was surprised that Subaru fell under whatever spell Wrath cast, he has seemed immune to the witch factors so far. He was the only one who could see the unseen hands of Sloth, he is the only one whom Gluttony's power doesn't seem to affect. |

Re:Zero is a prime example of of show where I dislike the main character, but I keep watching because I like the supporting characters. And I never have to worry about losing my favorite characters, because Subaru's power will keep bringing them back. This first really long episode had a bit too much sitting around talking, but it did manage to bring most of the characters together. |

I hope Subaru spent part of that year training to use the unseen hand. It's too powerful a weapon for him to just leave it undeveloped. The thing that bugged me the most was him stopping the Songstress from helping them. He always seems to have issues when it comes to people helping him. Character design is usually pretty good on this show, but I'm not crazy about the Songstress' character design. HOOfan_1 said: I just figured it was the first four episodes, like Freiren did. So with Sirius killing Subaru, this marks the 18th time that Subaru has died in this world. So as a quick refresher, here's all the times that Subaru died from the first two seasons (and that number figures to be lower going forward seeing that Subaru is now relying on Return by Death less and didn't die at all during the second half of the second season): Insignia Arc: 3 (Elsa twice, then by the three hoodlums in the alley) Roswaal Mansion Arc: 4 (Rem three times with Subaru only figuring out it was her the third time, then by suicide by jumping off the cliff) Witch's Cult Arc: 4 (Indirectly by Puck as he was caught in a deep freeze by his attack, then directly by Puck twice, and then by Julius after Petelgeuse possessed him) Sanctuary Arc: 6 (Suicide after Rem falls into a coma, then twice by Elsa, then by the Rabbits of Caerbannog, then suicide before going mad, and then again by the rabbits on Roswaal's order) Priestella Arc: 1 so far (Sirius) While Subaru has changed his mindset to not think of Return by Death as a fail-safe mechanism, he's up against some extremely dangerous enemies in this arc where things can easily go wrong. |

It didn't take long this time for the theme songs to appear seeing that this show is known for its infrequent running of the theme songs opting to use up all of its allowable airtime to tell a more detailed story rather than setting aside three minutes each episode to run them. Episode 52 Just like that, Subaru dies for the 19th and 20th time. First, he went directly to Lusbel and found out he was already hypnotized before being noosed by the Archbishop of Wrath. He then tries to get Reinhard to deal with Sirius seeing that Ranchins is already there, but while he killed her, it happened after she possessed everybody in the square and her voodoo powers cause Subaru to suffer the same pain for his 20th death. His next approach is to ask Beatrice seeing that she believes what anybody else would dismiss as hearsay, and while Emilia engages with Sirius, Subaru rescues Lusbel as he was there to save his sister Tina. And then Regulus arrives to take Emilia away to be his 79th wife. At least this time Subaru managed to stop Sirius before she kills everybody at the square, but now he has to deal with another Archbishop that has abducted Emilia. Once again, this goes to show just how dangerous the Sin Archbishops are to deal with. |

Episode 53 Regulus has come to take Emilia as his wife, all while it is revealed that Sirius is Petelgeuse's wife and naturally is none too pleased that Subaru defeated him. Seeing that Regulus is none too pleased that Subaru acted so rudely towards him that he hits him in the leg with a rock and with Sirius and her voodoo magic, everybody else is hurt in the leg. And while that's happening, Garfiel and pay a visit to her mother "Liara" and his half-siblings Fred and Lafiel, and learns that she got re-married to Garek after he rescued her. While Liara is his mother, Garfiel is having a hard time believing it. As for what happened with Subaru, he survived along with the others at the square thanks to Beatrice, who used up her mana to heal everybody, all while Al and Felis nurse everybody back to health. And then another archbishop in Capella made a broadcast declaring that the floodgates will be opened to sink Priestella as they want that witch that was caught in the trap returned to them, all while Garfiel's family goes missing after an evacuation order was issued. Things are really getting serious here as these Archbishops are out for blood and won't stop until they get what they want. |

Episode 54 Priestella has come under siege by the Sin Archbishops, and they have sent an inquisition squad to make sure that they get the witch's remains, all while Capella announces to everybody that they have taken the city hostage and they won't stop until they get those remains. And then Mimi gets mortally wounded protecting Garfiel seeing that he's still being haunted by Elsa even though she's long gone. Kiritaka tells them that even they were willing to give them the witch's remains, they couldn't because of the barriers and stuff. So Subaru and company set out and they fight two inquisition soldiers who are just as tough as the Archbishops, especially the one with a bazillion arms hidden under his cloak. And then Capella appears as despite her childish voice, she has taken the form of a dragon. While Julius landed a hit on her, she regenerates as if nothing happened. And then Subaru, Julius, and Crusch are met by the Gluttony Archbishop Roy. The situation has gotten dire here as these Archbishops are hellbent on getting those remains taking extreme measures to make sure they get them. |

Episode 55 Subaru meets the Archbishop of Lust Capella herself as she can shapeshift and has been using a metia to make all those PA announcements, which is how Subaru fell into her trap seeing that she looked like a hostage. Subaru's injured leg is torn off, and it looks like he's going to die yet again as he and Crusch are taken down by the dragon., but he's barely hanging on by a thread and it looks like this time he will die by drowning as the floodgates have opened to sink Priestella. In the meantime, Felt is attacked by Reinhard's drunk father, while Anastasia is attacked by Sirius with the cats holding the Archbishop off for her to get away, and Emilia is being forced into marrying Regulus seeing that it's one of Capella's new demands. This has become a crisis situation and Subaru would have been better off dying and using what he had learned to not get fooled by Capella again. |

One crisis after another. Does this show really have no downtime for the audience to try and catch up? My tolerance for the show is waning. I definitely missed something, and it's making the show feel disjointed from my reality of the show. They, in this case, should have had a recap show. |

@HOOfan_1 it feels like I missed a movie or OAV. there are people in it that I don't remember at all. The guy who calls Subaru "boss" for instance. Where did he come from? Granted, I haven't watched the shows since they debuted, but I don't think my memory is that bad. That guy is very annoying, and I think I would have remembered him. Also, sort of tired of Emilia being unable to do ANYTHING to help herself. Yeah, yeah, she's a pretty face and??? Yeah, Subaru is the hero. Yeah, he has to undergo trials. But this is getting One Piece level of storytelling. |

The blond haired kid who calls Subaru "boss" is Garfiel, he was pretty important in season 2. Frederica, a new maid, was introduced at the beginning of season 2. She was blond haired and part beastman. Garfiel is her half-brother and also part beastman. Garfiel and Frederica's mother left them in the Sanctuary to go find Garfiel's father. Garfiel thought she had abandoned them, but was not mad about it, because he thought she could find happiness, but he was shown a vision of her wagon being crushed in a landslide, so he thought she was dead. The entire situation made Garfiel scared to leave the Sanctuary. He was fighting against Subaru, because he didn't want Subaru to break the barrier of the Sanctuary. Eventually Subaru was able to win over Garfiel's trust and take him out of the sanctuary to save Rem, Frederica and Petra from assassins that Roswaal hired to kill them. The big brown wolf like dude is one of Anastasia's bodyguards. He helped Subaru defeat the White Whale and helped him defeat Petelgeuse The guy in the helmet but bare chest who calls Subaru "brother" is Alberan 'Al' He is one of Priscilla's bodyguards. He hasn't had much screen time in the anime. |

Subaru going through hell again. Hard to think of another show where you root for the MC to get killed and he/she's not a bad person. |

I assume his fear was 'extra' because of the chance of him being turned into a creature but not actually dying and then being unable to kill himself. |

So I just heard about a reveal that they made, but they stuck it in one of the little chibi extras that Kadokawa often makes. Unfortunately they haven't done any kind of translation for it and the auto translation is, of course, terrible and hard to understand. Turns out Al is also from Japan. Explains why he was always nice to Subaru. |

Episode 56 Just when it looked like Subaru was going to drown to death after Subaru's leg was bitten off by Capella, he survives all that thanks to Priscilla and Liliana, all while his leg grows back because of his dragon blood that Capella injected into him. Priscilla shows off her moves for the first time as she carves up those Mabeasts as if they were nothing. Liliana calms everybody down with her song, and because of that Subaru has regained his focus after everything that happened. In the meantime, Emilia is looking to save all the wives. As for Crusch, she's still alive, but she's not doing so well since she also has dragon blood in her. Then Emilia hears is from Regulus himself that he's none too pleased about the flood gates being opened as he wants his glorious wedding. As for the Witch's new demands, it's impossible to meet since the Tome of Wisdoms were burned. So after all the chaos that happened, everybody is at least refocused seeing that they will need to clear their minds if they have any chance of turning the tables. |

Typical RE:Zero arc structure: Everything is fine --> Shocking bad thing happens (often resulting in Subaru's death) --> Things get progressively worse --> Another antagonist appears! Things get worse --> Things get so much worse it's hard to continue watching --> Things get to the point that there appears no escape from a bad ending --> Author ass pulls something to make team Subaru win. |
