really good episode. The stuff with the head captain was some great characterisation, it is unusual for him to be emotional or for us to get an insight into his life, so that was cool. Zaraki bodying fuckers is always fun. It is easy to forget that Byakuya is actually a caring person who was only so cold in the Soul Society arc due to his wife's death and he actually does care for Rukia, so it always takes me aback when he shows it, as often he doesn't show it.

Rewatching the series to prep for cour 3. Even though it's getting close to two years. I still hate the fact that they did not bring David Lodge back. Everytime Kenpachi is on the screen, I immediately switch to sub. Wish Viz or whoever did the dubbing just listen to the fans, the one that supports them, and brought him back. Again, I know it's been two years, but this was so stupid of them.

5 episodes into this arc and i got bunch of a thoughts

1) Quincies are way OVERPOWERED (at this stage 0 information on how they get all this powers)

we've been at war for 2 episodes and I am seeing shinigami who were training for years getting absolutely smoked
like they steal somehow bankai not only that they are super strong
-byakuya and -kenpachi, like what are we huh two badass captains losing to some no names
some random quincy guy killing right hand of head commander, again it was so easy that it pisses me off, dude had great bankai and was killed in a second

2) What are they fighting for?

if shinigami are saving balance in the universe, then what quincies are fighting for, there is gotta be a reason that we dont know yet, otherwise conflict is just stupid because
eventually universe is going to collapse

3) Ichigo bankai

cant steal his bankai, weird but okay probably cause he is part time shinigami or something else like that
also he is trapped in cage, i dont know maybe it is again perfect time to train new technique)
