Finally the end. While I think this is Rumiko's best written work that I read/watched after Maison Ikkoku, I have mixed feelings about how she had ended it.

While the sister obviously cared about Hatanaka throughout the manga, I thought her developing romantic feelings for him was kind of forced. The whole thing of getting her into that host club when she could've just turned around and left, getting her to buy the most expensive liquor, her aunt forgetting to pay on her behalf, and blabberring about it to mother Abess when she shouldn't have to, felt like a contrived and clumsy plot device to get her to leave the covent and be with Hatanaka. It would've felt more natural if her romantic feelings for him developed gradually, and she throughout the manga contemplated whether to leave the covent and live as an ordinary woman.

Ended just how I wanted it to: with Sister and Kosaku getting together! And hugging in the glow of victory. Really the only thing that could have been better than this was a kiss, but their hug was tender and loving, so I am quite satisfied. Great stuff!
(Also I just remembered, they technically have kissed already, in volume 1, huh? That was pretty jarring, I'm not gonna lie... Kosaku can be too forward at times... Feels like a case of "early installment weirdness", together with Sister Angela getting drunk and smashing a beer bottle on the table, LOL...)

Anyhow, when I finish a series I like to post my thoughts, but it ended up quite long... I was just typing a "stream of consciousness" here.
But I made it a review instead. Even though I doubt people read spoiler reviews, I wanted to show One Pound Gospel some love regardless.

Anyhow, with that out of the way, I have to say, I strongly disagree with the OP post in this thread. But unfortunately, it's from a deleted account. I'm still going to reply to it regardless, so here it is:
While the sister obviously cared about Hatanaka throughout the manga, I thought her developing romantic feelings for him was kind of forced.

It was built up slowly throughout all four volumes... she loved being with him and developed an interest in boxing due to him. She was influenced by Kosaku greatly. And he was probably the first guy who's been so kind to her -- he was a goofy guy who she couldn't help but root for, and always think about, praying for his success. This had an impact on her heart, and felt authentic to me. I don't think it was "forced" that she fell in love with him whatsoever.

I can understand this take, although I was still fine with it. Sister Angela tries to help people and is very good-natured and doesn't want to upset anyone, so even though she wanted to leave the host club, she stayed and heard the sleazy playboy out about his past. He used that to her disadvantage and put her in debt to him. I think it was a decent subplot, and it was in-character for Angela. It was also in-character for her slovenly aunt to spill the beans about the host club to Mother Abbess. (Her aunt sucked! But that was the point of the aunt's character: to be trouble for Sister Angela, to tempt her and try to lead her astray).

It would've felt more natural if her romantic feelings for him developed gradually, and she throughout the manga contemplated whether to leave the covent and live as an ordinary woman.

Again, it literally did develop throughout all 4 volumes. It didn't all occur in volume 4. She was falling for him since volume 2 at the latest, but the feelings were even blossoming in volume 1. She was very devoted to her faith and didn't wish to leave the convent, but when put to the test (as she was in volume 4), she decided her love for Kosaku was too great after all. She chose love over being a nun. (I do kind of wish it was explicitly said that she still loves God though, but oh well.) But if it weren't for falling in love, she would have never wished to live as an ordinary woman. She was true to the Lord until Kosaku stole her heart.
