一番星だって偶然に輝く
見えなかったなんて言わないで
走り出したのは君への気持ちがずっと
横顔に書いてあった気がしたから

The brightest star shines by chance
Don't say you couldn't see it
The reason I started running was because I always felt
My feelings for you were written on the side of my face.

Quoted from the opening theme of Roshidere

What’s so special about it?"

To me these lyric summarizes next week’s finale, 前を向いて look forward

● First, the line "The brightest star shines by chance" refers not only to Alya but also to Masachika.
While the brightest star points to Alya, who shines the most in the election, it also refers to Masachika, who was born a genius.

"Shines by chance" relates to Alya's spontaneous brilliance as she challenges the election with simple determination because she wants to and Masachika's fateful meeting with Alya, where he vowed to support her, as he could understand her true feelings through the Russian language.

● Next, "Don't say you couldn't see it."
This refers to them pairing up and facing each other. It means something like, "I don’t want you, who is the one who first saw me shine to look away from me. Help me to shine even more." This will be realized in next week’s exchange of words between the two.

● Lastly, "The reason I started running was because I always felt my feelings were written on the side of my face."
If taken literally, this might mean, "I started running away because I didn't want you to see my feelings," but that's likely a misunderstanding.

From the previous analysis of "Don't say you couldn't see it," meaning "Help me to shine more," it’s actually the opposite — the desire to be seen.
So It would mean, "When you noticed and accepted my feelings, I turned that into strength and began running forward."

Yes, the crucial line for next week, "look forward" means, "Because I love you too, I want you to use that as your strength and move toward your goal."

What do you guys think?

Excellent analysation of the lyrics. That was pinpoint and accurately presented. Thank you for sharing.

So it was a new song for each episode and that’s great. They chose great songs:)

No no the opening is always the same and I already thought not only the lyrics but it's story telling were a masterpiece but with that line coming next episode I really wanted to share my appreciation of the opening before the hype of the summer ends. (That part of the opening starts When Alya dances on stage at this exact moment : https://youtube.com/watch?v=WMdXTiLrT2g&si=q2791Q8xjfUyWwZv=52)

(Next week is gonna be an original ending)

EDIT : seems the link didn't work like it was supposed to. It's at 00:52

@DragyG Not an original, but Himitsu No Kotoba would be great.

@DragyG Well, that would be great then. The version I heard on PV2 was so good.
