Things are getting more serious. It's even a surprise that their relationship is this weak because of Hotaru and not Hananoi. When I compared the situation of the date and Hotaru with his parents I thought I was exaggerating, but the manga is really going that way. There is no perfect character. Even those who would be considered this way end up coming across as wrong. Like, what makes Hotaru perfect or an angel is what is hurting others the most, just like it was with Yao and the confusion that comes with being so kind. I'm loving this

you are telling the truth it's getting complicated for them to really convey their feelings for each other.

I can see where you are coming, but Hotaru's kindness is what attracted Saki to her. Saki immediately aligning Hotaru helping someone with his parents is unfortunate, but to be expected.

I almost think it is best that their relationship end because Saki needs to learn to love himself before he can look outward.

Saki wanting Hotaru to only make time for him and concurrently loving her for who she is comes off a bit gaslight-y to me.

He has made progress for sure, but this regression made it more apparent to me that he is not ready for a relationship. But he may have the steps in place to get out of his cycle.

I don't think that's the problem anymore, he's feeling guilty for stealing the time she should have had with her grandfather after all. She gave up being with her friends and her sister to be able to compensate him, if that were the case he would be happy, but he isn't. He only wanted her for a moment, which was when he found out about his friend. He loves her for that, just like he loves his parents for helping strangers, but when he needs them most, they're not there for him. I think this is a fair reason to be upset. And yet, he feels bad for wanting something like that.
They both need to learn how to balance things, she also wants to give everything to everyone and ends up not being able to give much

but yeah, the ideal is for him to go to therapy
