Sheesh, I should first master ᴋᴀᴛᴀᴋᴀɴᴀ and ʜɪʀᴀɢᴀɴᴀ foremost. I have such an excruciating journey awaiting me.

I can guarantee you it will be much fun

@DragyG You've told me that, too.

So you started learning first from Wikipedia, and then?

You were 10 back then. How did you go about it?

I learned first in my room and hiding some kana sheets under my desk at school to study when I was done with school things. I went for the whole self learning route then discovered language exchange apps which I joined around 7 years ago (2494 days ago) at first to practice Dutch cuz I was starting grade 7 and was afraid I wouldn't make it with the low practice I had but I switched to Japanese real quick (like 1 month after joining)

Since then my learning process has been mainly composed of

1) Readings: At first newspapers but Roshidere led me to read LN in Japanese too (I was reading them in French or English till then so yes Roshidere was my first completed novel in Japanese in 2021 as I finally got a bank account and could buy things online). So now it's a high majority of novel reading with a mean of a chapter a day.

2) Conversation : Spoken and written

3) Journaling / blogging

4) Vocabulary studying

I do keep animes outside of this method since I watch them when my day of studying ends but if you count them then I'm studying Japanese for basically the whole day (Except classes, lunch, dinner and sleeping for sure)

@DragyG But they mean different things!

And there's a certain symbol present on だ, which isn't on た. I forgot what they're called, but I bet they hold the power to change the meaning of the characters profoundly.

Now you are asking something like: What's the difference between B and F?

@DragyG It's not sports or strenuous physical training.

It can be a light exercise.

Moving your limbs will circulate blood flow and you'll achieve mental clarity by doing so, which is crucial for being focused and tackling your daily objectives. It releases natural chemicals (serotonin and endorphin) in your brain, which will make you feel energized and refreshened. It will also prevent your body muscles from going stiff, and you will be able to move more freely and with agility.

@DragyG From the looks of things, almost everyone is hating on 尺の丂んノり乇尺乇 but you and me. It seems that they were all expecting it only to be a heartwarming romcom with no real plot progression or character development. Perhaps that is why the rating, which used to be neck and neck with the LN, is going down on an almost day-to-day basis. It's a shame that people only want immediate results and not the journey that comes with it.

I actually said it in a post weeks ago at the time I was saying episode 6 (which revealed to actually be episode 8) will be Roshidere's big challenge since it does something no rom coms had ever done (in animes).

Seems like Roshidere didn't pass the test on MAL (or that MAL didn't pass Roshidere's test) of going away from what usual rom coms do.

People were expecting Roshidere to be brainless comedy with lot of gags and maybe a bit of romance. It's also how the anime was advertised (and how the novel still is advertised) and what it proposed in it's first episodes : banter + banter + banter + banter.

Roshidere's bait for a greater story is also it's biggest flaw and weakness. Roshidere isn't what it seems to be and when it seems like something made for braindead people and those braindead people actually watch that's what happens.

The anime is good, the story is good, the adaptation is good and I'm a fan of Roshidere. Like Amano Ririsa would say: "I love the anime. I love the novel, I love the cast and I love those silly jokes, I'm a Roshidere fan". However I can understand why people suddenly start to hate that anime that wasn't tailored for them and worst of all that baited them. What is happening to the rating is Roshidere's fault and was expected, if you ask me.

Just take a look at the top rom coms. You got mostly braindead comedy with sometimes maybe some flowers if you are lucky enough

Just take a look at those people talking about the 'elections arc'. I mean that's not an arc. That's the angular stone of this series.

Just take a look at those people worshipping Yuki they clearly wanted comedy and not a story about teenagers growing up (they would go mad if they knew how Yuki is about to change)

I guess Roshidere will fit the tastes of people having enjoyed Aquatope on the White sand or Yorukura as they both talk about growing up despite failures as much as Roshidere does.
@DragyG I loved Aquatope and Yorukura and I'm always a huge sucker for these maturity and coming of age stories. But I can't say Roshidere accomplish the same thing for me here. The plot of two genius siblings fighting for the student council president position does not grip me as much as a nobody starting a jellyfish themed band or a country bumkin trying to save the family aquarium. Since the plot fails to entice me, all actions and outcomes means nothing to me anymore and it soon starts to be very boring. It doesn't matter if your anime is a brainless romcom or a serious drama, it cannot be boring.

I see what you mean. Actually the anime doesn't contain what I linked to Yorukura and Aquatope.

I was actually talking about v4-8 of the LN but yeah it wasn't obvious in my post. My apologies.

However if you really enjoyed Yorukura try to take a look at the second season of Roshidere if they make one. V4-V5 is pretty much the relationship Kaho had with Yoru and her mom.
