Says it’ll be releasing in select theaters in the US on Oct. 4th. Not sure if there’ll be any theaters close to me that’ll play it due to the short runtime but if there is would it be worth going? Or just wait until I can stream it? Figured I might be able to convince some of my friends to go if it was in theaters.

I have watched the anime Look Back in the cinema because they have shown the film in Indonesian cinemas. And I think this film is very suitable to be shown in cinemas because the duration of the story is relatively short, apart from that Look Back is a quite in-depth work with an emotional narrative and smooth animation that depicts the struggle. and emotional relationships between characters. two main characters who want to become mangaka, which is packaged very well by the famous mangaka, Tatsuki Fujimoto. Therefore, watching it on the big screen will probably provide a more immersive and satisfying experience.

It’s worth it.
I watched it in theaters and I think it would be a much better experience to watch it in theaters compared to watching on a streaming site.

I watched it in cinema just today. It was worth going I guess, but I still find it weird that they adapted this and not Sayonara Eri, the much better oneshot. I remember reading this a while back and thinking it was ok but not that amazing, and that's the same feeling I came away with from the movie. After the movie, you get to watch an interview with Fujimoto and even he's not sure why this was getting animated and added some sakuga scenes to make it worth being it's own thing. He was worried the movie would otherwise have too many stills and leave people questioning if it was worth animating at all.

My only issue is that the sound was too loud. Emotional scenes blasted me with music that was way too loud, but that may have been a fuckup on the part of my local cinema.

The answer is yes absolutely yes watch it if you can. It’s a masterpiece. And we don’t know when there will be any official releases in the west. It is absolutely worth seeing if you have any interest. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it

This isn't a "must be experienced in theaters" kind of movie. But it was a wonderful experience (especially because I don't get to see anime in theaters that often).

The biggest reason I saw this in theaters is because I have no idea when this will get a streaming release, if at all.

It's definitely worth supporting so that we get more movies like this released overseas in the future.
