[Oshi No Ko]
| My Japanese is nonexistent, so i could be wondering about nothing: shouldn't the title be "Hoshi no ko", "Child of the star"? |

Bcs this is a show about idol, and Oshi in idol term means an idol you root for or your idol crush. For example you follow K-Pop and you like Lisa from Blackpink, you can say Lisa is your Oshi.
Oshi no Ko here means "the child of my Oshi". It also has alternative meaning similar to this one but i don't remember what it was

| @SukiAni27 Due to how Japanese works, "Oshi no ko" can also refer to the Oshi themselves (with 子 (ko) is only really used when referring to girls). So, it can mean "The Oshi girl" or "My Oshi". This is why one of the English translations of the title is "My Star". |

| They did a word play in the title. It means the children of stars, but also the idol I simp for ^. So its not Hoshi, its Oshi |
I just skimmed through this and I didn't even notice some of its hidden meanings. There was also another one that I think the author missed which is something to do with the name "AI hoshino". I actually found this out because my Japanese was still in its early stages at when I realised this so I misinterpreted her name as being "AI hoshiino" instead of "AI hoshino" (because I only knew the word Hoshii). Since in Japanese, the first name is at the end, it would be Hoshiino AI and if you split it up it would be Hoshii no AI - meaning "I want love". I don't know if this was obvious to some people but it was a cool realisation I had at the time. |
