Why do y'all think that the studios knowingly ruin anime? So that more people buy the manga or some other reason? The terrible adaptation thing is not unique to SDS, there's TPN S2 and Deadman Wonderland too.

Even after thinking so much I just can't get my head around it like how can they release these horrible adaptations? As a studio, they should know better than to ruin their own source of money but still they do it. What are y'all opinion on this?

I think it’s all up to interpretation: any studio can only do so much with the resources they have and ultimately how any anime’s quality ends up is subject to each viewer’s opinion. I’ve never read the 7DS manga so I’ve never had a problem with the anime. But an example of anime quality being up to viewer interpretation is I really didn’t like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, never read the manga but I thought it was a poorly produced mess. But any anime studio can only do the best they can and unless everyone and their grandma’s tell them that they made a bad anime, everyone involved will believe that they made something they can be proud of.

Depends, it’s case to case… in this case it’s Netflix fault, the first movie of the series completely bombed in Japan, yet after years of silence all of a sudden Netflix gave A-1 Pictures the task of making the third season in like 7 months. A-1 had other projects at the time, so they gave it to Deen, that already had other projects so they offloaded it to a smaller studio that didn’t have enough talent and manpower to make something decent in only 7 months. I can’t even be mad at the studio itself, it’s all Netflix’s fault

Studios don't have 100% control over every single series they make. In fact, most of the time, studios are just commissioned by whatever producers to make a series, with no major say anything. And whatever the production committee wants with a respective project is vastly different from one another, and often these are aspects we don't really know of most of the time. And the industry in general sucks.

Just as a whole looking back Seven Deadly Sins was good but fell off.

They overuse the absolute fuck out of the “not really dead” trope. A guy could be obliterated to nothing yet still be alive as ever the next episode.

The fanservice/relationships is flat out creepy. King practically raises his wife, Ban marries a child (I don’t wanna hear any “she’s 1000 years old”) and Meliodas gropes Elizabeth 24/7.

The story as a whole got boring after some time, I only continued watching it bc I wanted to see if it got better. It did not.
If I had to choose between One Piece and a girlfriend...I think I'll go with One Piece

ion think he's biblical. The names in 7ds and the story overall is inspired by the arthurian legend which are medieval stories from Britain centered on king arthur (u probably heard abt him before and the sword excalibur and shit there's also a disney movie abt him I think). I guess he's just interested in these stories. when I read the manga weekly some people in the community could guess how the story would progress by reading into the arthurian legend. wasn't always correct tho because it doesn't always follow it completely or made some changes. the same applies for his current manga (four knights of the apocalypse) which is a sequel to 7ds where people guessed the name for ban's or meliodas' child

yeah and Percival too. yeah I like that part of 7ds. always been into the merlin Arthur type films cartoon and stories. it kind of excited me in rising impact. alot like a show called supernatural and boys have the same links and the direct always buts a character in his shows with his first or second name.

I find this sentiment funny cause this is the only season which tried to do more than having flashy animation and having every woman flash the camera. the series was never that good. unless you really enjoy pedophillia then I'm sure you thought it was peak.

season 3 was also great, personally my favourite season.
Season 4 and 5 had some of the best fight scenes but got ruined. the chance of seven deadly sins getting a remake is 0%.
i wish it got treated better by the studio
