Why? Because it's yaoi? Did it cause a shitstorm or something? |

yeah it‘s freaking insane!! soooo many people were hating on it for some reason and apperantly that's why Crunchyroll removed the ENTIRE comment and review sections … on a every single anime. I personally did not think the anime was as bad as people were saying, also the fact that this one has worse reviews than fcking Super Lovers (on Crunchyroll) is soooooo insane to me ๐ |

@Spunkert I think a lot of younger male users review bombed the series for being gay propaganda. Even as someone normally against dei, I think it is silly mistaking josei/shoujo with woke propaganda. I guess a lot of newer fans mistake sweet baby with fujoshis. Lol Something like dragon ball daima turning goku gay would bean example of real dei slop if that were to happen, and in that case I would sympathize with review bombing. |

DAAAMMNNN REALLY? *sigh* why even review bomb a bl if you dont like it??? What happened ignoring anime you dont like... |

i’m kinda disappointed about the comments being removed because i like reading them especially when new episodes come out:( i’m still excited to continue this series though! it sucks that some of the fun has to be taken away from everyone because of a few shitty people, it reminds me of school when the whole class would be punished because of a few people misbehaving |

@rohan121 They do it on every BL, they did the same thing on Cherry Magic and Tadaima Okaeri last season as well. |

seems like it could've been part of the reason. it's honestly pretty sad that this is still a prevalent attitude in 2024. I have my criticisms for the series but none of them include it being gay. |

Some people are so disgusting for this. I saw comment on the first episode literally saying that they don’t want to see this sick in head crap, they just want a straight romance and asked if they aren’t scared of god for making homosexual anime. I was so disgusted by this comment. Idk what kind of people are these and what kind of upbringing they have. I give up on life. |

They'll be fine as long as a anime is filled with fanservice but can't endure a normal BL anime, like I wonder why they don't hate on GL animes too... like just because they show girls and fanservice...? What shitty people ( And I don't hate GL animes, i have watched several of them and loved every bit of it, I just can't understand why these sick people only picks on BL...) |

Sorry but thats just a false information. Shutting down comments is a pretty important desision that isn't made overnight and needs a lot of meetings by the higher-ups. The anime was just 2 days online before they shut the function off. It has to be pre-prepared by the whole IT team. It may be part of the decision that these things happened with other BL anime before, but the main reason should be something else. It also wasn't the first time a BL faced those hateful comments. If you want to share information, then also show the verified source you got it from. |

@Kati-Senpai Exactly! Only ignorant and uneducated people would think a single anime show could possibly make Crunchyroll remove their entire comments section. Crunchyroll is a streaming service, not a social media platform. It’s pretty obvious that Crunchyroll removed comments due to various reasons, including (but not limited to): the cost of maintaining the comments section; increased costs for licensing new anime content and merchandise; the value users found from having the comments; and the inappropriate comments made by immature people who had no need to comment on something they don’t want to watch. I wish Rahul Purini would at least make a public statement about the decision so that LGBTQ+ content wouldn’t get singled out and hated on even more. |

@Deviiilchan It would be foolish to think CR would care about that. It is just about money otherwise they would just hire moderators to deal with ideologue hatemonger comments. |

I saw someone who actually talked to a CR moderator, and the reason was complaints from big advertising companies like Disney+ about the Homophobic Ranting and raving. Which still makes 0 sense. Just delete the toxic crap! I had replies deleted less than a month before this in comments under Laid Back Camp. Why? Because I used the term *Food Porn* which was in the english episode title! We used the exact same term for it in 'Tis Time For Torture Princess, too. Crunchy could have censored these obnoxious pests but got lazy, some of their co-sponsors saw this toxic crap & panicked. |

There was also a comment on one of the new PA Works series something like (hate to even repeat it) "made by pedos for pedos" which I did find shocking. I imagine the studio could theoretically threaten legal action for having things like that on a site. |

The problem I think would be more with the Reviews. CR could delete comments, mine got deleted for reasons that often escaped me ( like the Man W**re comment Ishigami made in Episode 7, Season 2 of Love is War, which was hysterical & we repeated it in the comments. This year it would get your comment deleted.) Reviews on the other hand, never seemed to be removed or censored. And a lot Reviews were getting more Negative. Certainly, BL & Yuri got them all the time. Cherry Magic got hit at first with the negative reviews, but fans of the Manga & the Live Show jumped in and swamped that crap. But I know a lot of lesser shows did lose out because of poor reviews. Snack Basue lost out because most Gen Z viewers just didn't understand it & panned it in Reviews after only 1 episode. The show improves after that. In fact it was probably the best comedy of the Winter Season, but hardly anyone watched it. I guess that could scare the Sponsors, but as a Premium Member I don't see the Ads so I never thought about it before. |

@slvrcofe21 I hope that is the plan moving forward. I don't mind doing this now as the system got overwhelm. We'll get them back. I should also add people had a bad habit of spoiling what happens if they were manga reader. So there is a lot at play here not just one or two things as to why it got hut down. |

It doesn't make sense that this particular anime is what made the higher-ups at Crunchyroll 'finally' remove the comment section. They've had other boys love series on there, why not then? Cherry Magic's anime adaptation and drama are still up on Crunchyroll (drama's been there since it aired in 2020) but it's "Tasogare Out Focus" that makes things happen? I don't buy it. The AI-generated subtitles are more likely to be a reason for it since a lot of people did complain about that. I'm definitely willing to be proven wrong if there's actual proof. But until then, I definitely don't think that the fact that yet another boys love anime on Crunchyroll made homophobes so mad that Crunchyroll bent to their will. |
if you told me we were dreaming, i would pinch you to prove we're awake. |

@BlondieLottie All of these guys seem like 15 year old kids... "Majority of people who watch anime are straight people", Boy is this guy is in for a surprise... Makes you wonder how bad of a job their parents did in raising them lol but I also agree. Taking out the comment section was a good move. Netflix never had it in the first place and finding a good comment under their piles is extremely difficult. |

@Yuri_Niji Honestly! There are many popular, highly rated anime that I could metaphorically rip a new a--hole with a well-reasoned argument, but these trolls don't even watch the thing before they go and 'criticize' it. Sometimes people just deserve to be shut down and that's okay <3 |
