Mc handed over the pill to curry favor from senior sister.

Hua TianDu and Mc both fight over that dragon scroll.

But,

the sect leader guy in white clothes and that guy trapped in red lantern, both know of the dragon scroll's whereabouts. But they take no action. I wonder why.

He ascended but it was never explained how.
At least i can't remember him doing so, seems no one else did either.

@bushman66 as pal Jeffrey123 mentioned, it happened in S3.3. I remember that ep because of the cute little Star Baobao and his magic ring. And in the next ep #4, he gave a demon sword each to the tall and bellied brothers.
