| Why is ecchi bad? I hate it because it's the lowest form of entertainment. accidental boob grabs are only so funny for so long, but after seeing it since 5th grade I have lost my patience completely for it. It's not only the entertainment value either; the animation quality so so piss poor I might as well make an anime myself using windows movie maker. The voice acting for the f*cking girls are so god damn annoying I want to rip my ears out every time they moan or scream. And then if they're in harems (which they normally are) the music is reduced to nothing more than a copy of every dating simulation game ever. Another thing is how it's starting to appear in everything anymore. No longer is this fan service limited to the anime that is categorized as 'mature', now you can find it in kiddie and PG-13 shows. It's a real f*cking shame when manga like Freesia and anime like Speed Grapher or Hellsing have more class than Ladies vs. Butlers, Chrome Shelled Regios, and many MANY more. I hate the fan base of ecchi more than I hate the fan base of Yaoi. They are annoying, childish and act as though every piece of ass they see is the best f*cking thing ever. They don't care about the lack of plot or art or character development as long as they see some tits. And then little kids see that and then want to watch it themselves. Even if it doesn't lead to them wanting to watch the shit in the future it could leave them confused or horrified by what they just saw; or worse, they can think it's funny and try to smash their own faces into some busty lady. What really pisses me off is the f*cking character archtypes. They are all the same and all as annoying as their voices; I like stories with actual substance in them, and I can find more substance in a f*cking slice of life "moe" anime like Working!! or K-ON than I can in an ecchi-harem even with the most "enthralling" plot. And what the hell is up with ecchi and the harem genre being paired together? I like Harems, but thanks to all the fan service I can't support the original genre and I'm forced to watch reverse Harems which, as far as fan service goes, is considerably less and is basically dressing the heroine in cute frilly outfits. This is why ecchi is bad, and I wish it would get out the main anime industry. |

| To be honest, if they made ecchi interesting, I'd watch it. Maybe if there's a real romance where things get hot and steamy. But it's the same stuff every time. Hand on boobs, face in boobs, hand on panties, face in panties... it's like a formula to get viewers. There may be one or two anime where the ecchi actually added to the anime, but in general, it's just a cheap way to get viewers and customers. I have no problem with ecchi itself. Sex sells; we know that from all sorts of media. I just wish they'd at least make it add something to the plot. Or at least make it interesting. A boob grab on the beach rather than a boob grab in school does NOT make it any better. |
