Dramatic Chipmunk
The Dramatic Chipmunk, is a video that was first released on College Humour. College Humour is a comedic site that posts a variety of original videos along with funny, non scripted videos along with videos made by outside actors. some of College Humour's original video series include Hardly Working, and Jake and Amir. The Dramatic Chipmunk was filmed on a japanese morning show and soon became popular on yoututbe and college humour because of its human-like dramatic pose. The dramatic chipmunk soon spread to popular culture, appearing in shows like south park (see south park: youtube episode). Here is the Dramatic Chipmunk himself:
Numa Numa is a youtube sensation that revolves around Gary Brolsma. In 2004 Gary Brolsma recorded a webcam video of himself lip syncing to the song “Dragostea din tei”, by O-Zone. this video soon spread to youtube and recieved millions of views, making a widely known video throughout the web. the video can be seen here"
Gary went on to have minor success with his video, making a number of sequels, some of which were sponsored by Geico. Gary also appeared on South Park in the Canada On Strike episode:

Chocolate rain is a video created by Tay Zonday. The video features him singing a song called Chocolate rain, and can be seen below:
This video was embraced by the youtube community because of Tay's extremely deep voice, a phenomena that can also been seen in Rick Rolling. Tay Zonday enjoyed a period of fame which landed him shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live:

Daft hands is a youtube sensation involving a person who uses his hands to display the lyrics to the daft punk song "Harder, Better, faster, Stronger" and has 36,836,552 views to date. It was created by the youtube user FrEckleStudios and has appeared in many different types of media, which can be read about above. Several theories have been postualated as to it's popularity, and aside from the general awesomeness of the song, the most well thought, and plausible scenario has been proposed by Know Your Meme, that is the "one take meme":
