I have always been wondering if the Anos we have been watching is the real Anos. Throughout the series, he has been cut down source and all to only come back. I know they say he's all powerful, but what if he wasn't the original. There are a few other reasons that I think this.

When they went to the past, they found a sword that shouldn't have been easy to find. Anos mentioned it was meant for them to be found. The only way it was easy to find someone already knew they were going to be there and had his power to leave it for them. Basically, future self left it for him.

Like I already mentioned, his source has already been destroyed several times. If he wasn't the original Anos and somehow still connected to the original Anos, no matter how many times he died, he would come back.

Reincarnated people seem to have all their memories except him. The original could have removed the memories from Anos so the future doesn't play out the same.

I think the original Anos was a god at one point. He did something he's not happy with. He's redoing the past at the same time, creating an Anos that can defeat him. That's what I think that's where the show is leading to.

if I remember correctly your correct about him not being the original but don't think he was a god.

@The_Honord_One I'm basically taking everything I learned from the anime and just making a guess. One of them was if Arcana really his sister, then he's maybe related to the gods somehow.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and a lot of what you said sounds logical.

He did remember a certain amount, like his name Anos, that he was the Demon King, his underground palace, knowledge about the past, but it seems he started off with less power and some missing memories.

However, I don’t think the old Anos would need to be defeated, more like his future self did not need all his former memories of all the sadness, war, death that happened before, so he could have a new start in this new life, maybe to help take in the new atmosphere that existed in the future.

When he was ready, he could eventually get them back with a new mindset and perspective.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

@ejleon It's just selective memories was erase from him. Like Arcana and his childhood was taken from him. He went somewhere with the group, Anos said he felt like he been there before but couldn't place it. Another reason in the recent episode he fought the Goddess of the Future and could not foresee any way to defeat Anos. Either he's to powerful or it means he's part of another existence.

I think the fight with the goddess of the future was kind of confusing.

Another reason I wish I spoke Japanese 😅

I far as I remember …

Nafta said that she saw a future in which Diedrich won, which is true because Diedrich does defeat Arcana, but then she says that she can’t see a future in which Anos is defeated, which is also true, because Anos defeated Nafta before Diedrich defeats Arcana, so Anos does win the fight.

However, after the fight, Anos asks Diedrich “You already knew the outcome”, which he responds, “Of course, but I had to try and defy what was foreseen”, referencing his pride.

First: This could mean that there was never a future in which Anos lost the fight, but that it was just them trying to intimidate Anos by only telling him the information about Diedrich winning, feeding the opponent false information as a tactic.

Second: This could also mean that the future Nafta sees is not written in stone and just a possible future. If that’s the case, then the “future” would not be written in stone and can be changed.

I hope that makes sense.

What do you think?
