| So... Can we all agree that Kengan CGI is vastly superior to most of Baki's fights? I still can't believe that we live in a time where you can easily say that CGI "animation" is better. It's a travesty to actually think that it's even possible. And Kengan proved that their fights are so much more weighty and have a real punch in comparison. While Baki is fun and the fights are really over the top with bullet exploding in mouths or Yujiro earthquake stopping fists, the fights never had that much of a good animation, and they never needed to. Kengan is more grounded, I mean only in comparison to Baki because it too has impossible over the top things, but imagine how boring and bad Kengan fight scenes would be if they had the 2D animation as same as Baki. Don't get me wrong I hate CGI and it's abysmally bad in Kengan in every non fight scene, but in fights they really slap, it's almost like watching final match of some fighting game tournaments. |
| THANK YOU!!! Kengan is awful to look at 80% of the time but the fight scenes HIT. I had never watched Baki and wasn’t familiar with the animation, but I found the fight scenes incredibly boring and anticlimactic. That second fight would have been INSANE in the kengan style. It would have been way more intense and hit harder. I also honestly hate how Ohma looked in this just in general. He’s supposed to look rough and at least kind of intimidating? But this made him look squishy and way younger? Idk I think there was a compromise that could have been reached and it wasn’t. |

I couldn't agree with you less, Kengan's 3D animation makes the fights go very fast, there are no moments as memorable as Baki's fights, why do they focus on several blows instead of just punching randomly, each blow has a focus, is it due to the lack of animation? It could even be (although I don't think so), it turns out that Baki's fights end up being remembered more and his moves too, unlike Kengan, that the fight ends and you don't even remember most of the moves that were used.

Firstly usual fights, like real life, do go very fast, that's why they are more believable in Kengan and why they have much more punch feel than Baki. I mean there are also a few things like "techniques" that are mostly unrealistic like Kure family limit break or Ohma's Niko Style for example. That part is the only similarity to Baki. Also I don't understand what you actually mean when you say "Why do they focus on several blows instead of punching randomly?' I mean are you saying that punching randomly like in Baki is actually BETTER? If so I find your question to be laughable. That's why I say that the fights are better in Kengan, they ARE more focused instead of slapstick nature of Baki. I don't want to assume your age but you sound like an impressionable kid. I mean I do agree that Baki's fights are more memorable, but that's only because they are RIDICILOUSLY stupid. I mean for me the most infamous example is when Donovan cut's of Doppo's arm and Doppo's like "hehe, what I fool now I can't break my fingers so I can punch him MORE STRONGLY!" I mean that's just... wow. I laughed so hard and it was entertaining and just because it was so stupid I will remember it more. But that's also why Kengan fights are more like fights than just random JoJo lvl asspull bulshit. And don't get me wrong I love Baki because it IS stupid but in comparison Baki's fights are so much worse and don't feel like actual fights, while in Kengan they look incredible. |

| @ST63LTH Yeah, Kengan outside of fights looks really horrible, while Baki is actually serviceable and has a distinct style. Also the animation of bodies in Kegnan in normal parts is just janky and unnatural and it's painful to watch. But they really did put effort in battle department with the animation. |
