Well, Ars is using all his resources and ally wisely. Probably the only logical move he can do as a leader right now.

Not sure how much Fam can be trusted but it's better to have them as an ally than an enemy. This works as a buildup episode but man, that felt underwhelming.

Unnecessary lost of life averted, Ars trust in his retinues continue to be his greatest strength. Cool sequence

At first, I was surprised that Fam was actually a man, hehe.
Then, the good steps taken by Ars will give him the encouragement to become even stronger to protect his territory.

Well, hopefully in the future it will develop so Ars can be more assertive and still cute as usual. haha

Ars is now on both of the biggest players' sights. Gotta add more talents on his roster if he wanna live longer. On another note, what's the next step for his character development?

Ars' appraisal skill has really come in handy in helping figuring out what's really going on since it has led them to Pham whom was able to obtain the forged pact document although the forgery was figured out by another person. Now Ars is off to meet Lord Couran to get the recognition he's worked for, good job.

Quite a nice episode with some different twists and turns, especially with the authenticity of the seal/stamp on the alliance document. Also I liked the dramatic moment where the Lord took off the hood to reveal himself 😆

Although Ars has quite a powerful ability, he himself is not yet powerful. He lacks experience, practice, and many other things to even resemble his father. Even so, he must assume his role knowing that the people who know him are aware that he also has his flaws.

But everything went well, and he resolved the conflict without shedding blood. Now Couran is interested in Ars.

I feel like it would have been better strategy to keep having Perreina continue to pretend to be traitors. Sure, it means the other side gets some extra magic stones, but it would be worth it when Courran marches right through Perreina without being opposed and launches a surprise attack.

I see what they're doing. The LN is pretty slim on details, so they're adding a lot more in the anime. That's fine and all, but I wish they would stop having Ars have that dumb look on his face all the time. I know that Japanese fans like that, but he's much smarted and cooler in the LN.

I know anime is anime, but this suffers from the saijaku tamer syndrome

way too many otherwise level headed adults trusting a tween with diplomatic issues.... it's hard to look past sometimes.

oh well, it's still a good anime over all

3.5/5

I just hope Ars enters his teen years sooner. But welp, that is how the story wants to go after all. The LN really wants to emphasize how Ars is an ultimate 'enabler' rather than an OP solo-achiever by gathering and realizing all potentially OP characters to be part of his circle.

At least it's not like Fluffy Paradise. They were looking to 5 year old for all the answers.

@EienGem His arc has been relatively flat thus far. He has a strategist, bride-negotiator/diplomant, knight, spy, and mage. His core team is complete. It doesn't seem like a show where the economics and logistics of war will feature much.

Either he will have to deal with betrayal or gain confidence in his own abilities in which he can not see with his skills.

While I kinda enjoy the overall plot of this anime, I have to say it is a hard to watch Ars being the dumb one all the time just to give us some more exposition. Sometimes this kind of storytelling is ok but they are reaching my bearable limits.

Ars hires Pham to get some intel and he gets some spicy intel about a betrayal pact against his lordship. However, it seems like the Masaa district seal is a forgery; So Ars visit Peirreina District to sort an alliance breakdown of sorts.

Ars backing up slowly at the end after hearing he has to have an audience with Couran is hilarious. His face says it all lol

With the successful connection to Shadow, Ars is pretty much secured, though seeing Pham as a woman is rather...enticing? That said, the matter is enticing enough for Pham to investigate himself on Perreina's relation to Couran, and one thing is clear: a pact with districts of which Perreina is one, sided wth Vasmarque. A trade secret like this is too great to share, though this comes straight from his own intelligence and investigation. Sharing this with the Canarre council, this is news that Maasa District becomes a foe instead of an ally, but upon further inspection, it may be a forgery instead thanks to Menas Renard, espeically given resources like the explosion magistones that can only be found there.

The truth is to bring this news to Perreina directly, and continue the lie as per the pact to join Vasmarque's side, before he can question all of the hard questions to get more intel, and the man in question himself: Maasa's headman, which he has pledged loyalty to Couran and never betrayed his trust, and able to take over from Ars after hearing the incompetency of Perreina's headman, being given leniency to change sides and resolve without bloodshed.

With Lumiere's surprise visit to Raven's grave and the news that Couran wants to see Ars, the interest has waned a heavy burden on him, on the spot.
Take the chance while you still can, Ars.

@elkensteyin

Plus, he's a fully grown man who was reincarnated into a child's body, so it's ridiculous having him behave like a frightened child.

So MC's skills are just not that OP as I had hoped it. If he can't see their skills other than what he can only see, it's more or less a normal skill at this point.🥲
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Pham <3 Show me your trade secrets ;)

Wow, but honestly easily solved once saw the Maasa thing. At that point it's just like "just ask!". Unless I misheard, it sounds like the enemy was successful in their harvesting, but rather than 2 of the same side losing lots of allies, both were undamaged.

5/5, completely different than my trash expectation for what the episode would be. Ars has an accurate comparison, he is simply a village leader and going to prefecture leader. That's huge!!!! (In United States terms, that's like a town mayor being called by a state governor)
