Oh man, Diablo set his eyes to to after Edward. I like his confidence even if he's going up against some major opposition.

Diablo is by no means weakling and he handled the fight this episode like a walk in the park. He just tanked all those attacks while putting on a grin. And also a reminder how badass Tempest Wolf is this season.

To be honest, with a war going on at the same time, I mean, practically a war schemed by we-know-who, it’s easy to forget someone like Diablo is trying to avenge some people too lol. I mean they blamed a crime on him, so none can blame him for what he would’ve done.. to those people from church and that dumb king of Farmus. Actually liked how he literally landed in enemy’s land and made a fool out of those fucking nobodies… with his demon haki and his sort-of self explaining talk about other demons.

Rook genius or whatever the fuck that term is, my ass, I mean the moment they knew Diablo’s a primordial demon, they literally fucking broke out in a cold sweat lol. Talk about being even more lame than your titles. Though yeah, those even luminaries need to die, the so-called "schemers". By the way, liked this episode more than the last one.

Diablo the goat is back to fight.

While Rimuru and Hinata were fighting to the death in Tempest, a man named Damrada was conspiring behind the scenes in Maris, the capital city of Falmuth. He noticed the presence of a Primal Demon among the enemy forces and pulled some strings before disappearing. Meanwhile, the demon in question, Diablo, descends in front of his enemy, King Edward.

In the presence of reports from various nations, Diablo warns the king to make peace with Youm, but the king refuses, relying on the Three Battlesages on his side. Diablo finds two of these Battlesages, the Rook Geniuses Saare and Glenda, waiting for him. In response, Diablo ruthlessly instills fear in all his enemies.

Diablo being the menace he is. I love it.

Really wish there was more real tension to this whole arc to make it matter, just not feeling it here for the majority of the episode with Diablo there. Still feels way too easy for him and Rimuru's side as a whole for me to feel anything with what's happening.

It's the holy fools time to attack and poor them to underestimate Diablo like that with dubious evidence and a sheer misunderstanding of his class. Yeah, there was no way they stood a chance but at least this helped expose the real culprits behind all of this. Will Hinata survive now that she received lethal damage and Rimuru can't heal her? I mean, I hope so but at the same time we could have a case similar to her former companion.

Its nice that we got to see how Rimuru's reinforcements fared against the battle mages. For all their gusto the demon hunters sure were ineffective at their role. As were the battlemages surprisingly. Looks like the seven don't care about collateral damage at all. As long as their plans are successful that is. But they sure picked the wrong person to anger in the form of Rimuru though.

Kinda underwhelming that after 8 episodes of build up and a lot of meetings and plans, with the exception of hinata everyone in the other side are just falling like flies cause the main team characters are just too OP or have the "doesnt affect me" logic.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime They Tested My Patience

I want the people in charge of this pacing drawn and quartered. It should be criminal to end last episode on a cliffhanger, and focus the following episode on another battle taking place and end it on yet ANOTHER cliffhanger.

It's like, Would you like a cliffhanger with a side of cliffhanger?

The worst part is that these battles aren't even engaging to me anymore since I know Rimuru and his team are just going to steamroll whatever opponent they have coming lmao. The best these episodes get from me is a little smile, appreciating Diablo's appearance, and... that's it.

Finally some much needed diablo action. I hope the next episodes are all about murdering those clergy fucks.

10/10 episode.

Also, Gabiru's sister is so hot UNFF

Hope Hinata gets healed, along with the crowd being spared. Maybe even that saare dude gets saved by diablo.

I'm enjoying these better episodes. That said, I have to ask why Luminous or the Emperor haven't stepped in to stop this. They know that the seven floaty robes are traitors, they know their favorite play-people are at risk, they know the relationship with Rimuru is at risk, and they could stop this whole situation at any time, and they just...aren't? Why? So the story can happen? It's fun to watch, so I'm not exactly complaining, but it's weird.

This episode was mainly just focused on Diablo. I liked it. Diablo is a badass.

We only saw a little bit of what happened with Hinata and Rimuru and the episode ended with another cliffhanger. Oh well. At least the fight with the clergies is something to look forward to.

I feel like the story has gotten too big for it's own good. Or at least they give a lot of exposition at the wrong time, like why the scene with Damrada in the beginning? The structure is totally messy.
Hyping up Gregory and those other two holy knights just to get instantly annihilated. Was Gregory vs Ranga supposed to be played for laughs? This felt so empty. Saare vs Diablo the same thing.

It's also hard to believe that Rimuru was taken by suprise by the appearence of the eldery clerics. Because of how seemingly infinitely powerful Rimuru is supposed to be, this situation shouldn't be as tense as they portray it.

@utopica

I mention above that Luminous could end everything instantly, but chooses not to for reasons unknown, but which I suspect amount to "so that the story can happen." Rimuru and Diablo have exactly the same problem. Both of them could very easily instantly resolve the situations they're in, but simply choose not to "so that the story can happen." Even Rimuru's mid-ranked minions are facerolling top-tier enemies at this point. Entire episodes are devoted to explaining how elite and powerful the various groups of special enemies are, and then they lose without the heroes even trying. We're now in an anime where the OP MC has OP minions who have entire battalions of OP subordinates. Being OP is now so normal that most of them don't even have names (for us, Rimuru probably named them because he named everyone).

Obviously, an OP MC is OP. So we're used to them not being in danger. Usually the stakes come from the OP MC's friends being in danger, but here, all the friends are OP also. Sometimes the OP's nation or guild or whatever are in danger, but here the entire nation is full of OP characters, and even if they all lose, Veldora will fuck up anyone who tries anything.

It's not boring to watch, exactly, but it has no feeling of stakes when you know that, in the end, any of them can resolve everything instantly. We're essentially watching them all play with their food.

Jeez, how absurd all of this. No one in this anime can just shut up and act. But at the same time no one can just talk and not act. Each and every character has IQ equal to temperature.
All I want just a single brain cell and everything is resolved, but no, let's make this the most boring thing ever.
There is no stakes to this battle at all. I don't understand why Hinata's death is so important either.
Let's assume she has no plot armour and dies, does it trigger something? Nothing. Rimuru and his gang has no connection to her. Other countries may have some regrets but what about it? Rimuru has plot armour. He can just sacrifice beelzebub or another skill and be done with anything.

Slime is loving its cliffhanger endings for the last few episodes now, huh? XD

Putting that aside, I didn't mind seeing Diablo taking the main spotlight for this episode and showing us how ridiculously powerful he is, with his high resistance to natural elements and full immunity to physical attacks to name a few things. Saare tried his best, but at least he finally realised that Diablo was not to blame for Reyhiem's death.

Just as he fought about this, the Seven Clergy made their move. The first few interrupted Saare's fight and got underway in attacking the innocent journalists who're watching the earlier fight. At the same time, back with Rimuru, another batch of them arrived and restrained Hinata's allies, preventing them from healing her, as Rimuru's potions have little effect due to her high magic resistance.

It has set up a tough encounter against the clergy for the next episode. The sooner they get completely thrashed, the better, although I do think the fight against them might be tougher than I'd like to admit. We'll see how it'll go next time.

Ah so Diablo was going after Edward and the forces he had at his disposal which is nothing for him obviously and then the 7 days clergy who is behind all of the nefarious behavior going on showed up to help take him down and at the end of the episode they also showed more of Rimuru and the 7 day clergy telling him that Hinata needed to be punished for her crime of disobeying orders and we all know Rimuru isn’t going to sit around and allow that to happen so next episode will definitely be exciting

Well, we may be away from the meeting table, but I’m ngl I’m not really into this side of the conflict, I wasn’t really interested in seeing how the enemy is setting themselves up to lose horribly and, you guessed it, they lost horribly lol. And really it was just another showing of how stupidly powerful Rimuru’s forces are, dude’s butler and dog can solo everything, it makes it hard to believe there will ever be another true threat in the series, of course I’m sure there will be but for now Rimuru can walk over everything, I guess it is at least entertaining lol.

But besides my usual issues with Tensura, there were some good bits in this episode, I liked that both Glenda and that leader of the demon hunters completely understood they were fucked and booked it lol, and the action scenes in the episode did look quite good so no complaints there either. And it looks like the seven days fuckwits finally showed themselves, but I can’t help but feel the ones they should have been binding are Rimuru’s forces lol, but even if they did it’s no question they’re done, but at least these guys I do want to see get what’s coming to them, the fact they went after the bystanders definitely enhanced that feeling. And also, damn they really left us on the same exact cliffhanger as last episode lol, Hinata’s fate is still up in the air.

The true villains are making their presence known to everyone. The Seven Days Clergy are the ones manipulating both sides behind the scenes. We've seen them with Hinata influencing her and her soldiers. Whispering in their ears and pointing them in certain directions, this episode they physically step onto the battlefield themselves. Diablo handled things extremely smoothly up until that point. We got majority of him this episode dog walking those demon hunters from the east and even the knight Saare, just completely toying with these guys. Diablo is so far above them it's hard even entertaining for him. Diablo was in complete control of the situation from the moment he stepped foot in front of them. Very interesting that there's reporters from other countries there to chronicle the events. The new king Edward talked A big game but he fell to Diablo fear like basically all of them did. Saare was the only one who really tried to stand his ground and even he was just being toyed with by Diablo. Whom could've killed Saare at any moment since his attacks were ineffective and Diablo is immensely stronger. Ranga had a good time with his assignment of roughing up the enemy's army. Zooming around knocking them into the ait until they gladly retreat. Rimuru has some powerful subordinates at his command but now with the Seven Days Clergy making their efforts known and blatantly going after Hinata right in front of him Rimuru will have to take them down.

after a week of waiting, how on earth did we end up on the same cliffhanger as last time, guessing from the title of the next episode, Luminous might finally intervene with all the problems her people have caused to Rimuru, I can't wait for that happen.

Ranga solos the army of small fry and just toys with them before the Dragon newts and Goblin riders even arrive.

Diablo instills so much fear on everyone that even Glenda chose to run away instead of dealing with this bs, it seems those 7 luminaries are trying to cover up all the dirty work they have done, I really hope Luminous deals with this shit already

Something ain't adding up here bud.

Also, people are here because they like the series as a whole. Just because one episode or arc is bad doesn't mean you should drop the show entirely. Even a show like FMAB has some dull episodes in the middle; I guess people should drop the show halfway because it stopped being engaging?
