AAAAA why did it take me so long to watch this? (i was getting up to date with one piece but huh)
loved how this started, maybe a big silly how he literally doesn't react to the zombies but it makes me think about how many people may be SO sad with their lives that they'd trade them for a zombie apocalypse. TBH this makes me want to do so a bit too, to go freely and pick the stuff I like and have to pressure to do or not do anything? cool

First episode was okay, yeah I know the animation was good, but IMO animation consideration comes further towards the back of the line.

I'm sure the show was trying to make the job hell stuff seem funny or entertaining in a dark comedy sense, but it seemed to fall kind of flat to me. Not sure if it's just because I experienced somewhat some of that before, and I understand it all too well, but I didn't find it all that funny nor entertaining. I know the show has to set it up, but it sort of lingered on it way too long.

And then there's him visiting his workplace love interest, it was just tragic. Of course it would have been lame if he showed up just in time to save her, and then they teamed up...but maybe lame would have been better than tragic. Like the episode isn't really selling me on fun, entertainment, and enjoyment nor even amusement yet. I'm more on the fence of...aw crap, is this going to be another slog of an anime to commit to, maybe I should just watch something else.

The show is super visually appealing. Animation and style are both really nice. I enjoyed the use of all the colors too.

But zombie apocalypse. First two thoughts. No work and then a girl. I feel that lmao

Great start to this one! I saw the Netflix movie before this so a lot of it is familiar.

Now this is a show I didn’t think I’d get that invested just from the first episode and it’s been awhile since I’ve seen an anime that had an adult protagonist for me at least for a whole series since Black Lagoon and it actually focuses on Akira being stuck in a dead end job that he doesn’t like and becomes disillusioned with the job over the time and fancies Saori a nice gal who was the only thing keeping him going in his job only to have same crush literally doing nasty things with his abusive boss who treats him like crap but as soon as a Zombie Apocalypse comes and changes everything in his life, Akira is happy that it’s happening because it means he doesn’t have to ever do that shitty job again. And honestly this concept for a zombie show? Very unique I feel and I don’t think that many zombie flicks do this I mean you always have the typical “We have to survive this outbreak” kind of plot but never a plot in anything zombie related that would be considered optimistic and funny which Zom 100 does to a tee.

And I gotta say the visuals? Absolutely stunning! I don’t think I’ve ever seen this studio’s work before and from what I understand they are relatively new and for a company that’s only started in the industry, this is incredible work here from the colour slowly building up and building up to Akira’s revelation to the paint splurges at times it makes for a brilliant first impression for me and this was for an anime that had only come out last year. Just incredible stuff.
