I wouldn't stand all that pressure and feelings of guilt. I think I would choose the shortest escape route, kinda what isami tried to do.

I’m gonna be straight up honest even though this may seem like a horrible idea but I think I might wait it out until maybe my friend group decides to surrender together just like in the manga. Me fleeing the country is certain doom.

I would not surrender, would try to live out as if nothing has happened. Would not go to another country neither. I would leave it to and see what will happen, for better or worse.
