With episode 18 out, how do you guys feel about him at this point? Do you feel bad for him or do you no sympathy and believe he got what he deserved in the end?

He wasn’t deserving of death but because he was baby he led to his own demise

It was kind of a fuck around and find out scenario, so I don’t particularly feel bad for his death no.

I couldn't feel sorry for him. He was practically already dead when he accepted power from a stranger without even asking questions about it. So it's mostly his fault to begin with.

He never actually existed. How could I sympathise with a character in a story? There’s enough real suffering in the world, fictional villains are just plot points.

when i was polling, i was thinking, what! do i feel bad for him, ah no, not really,i gonna vote no, and i thought most of the People would vote yes . i wasn't expecting this result and those comments.

anyways, if he deserves or not, or if i have no sympathy for him, will i really didn't care'd for him to feel anything, he was just a character for the progression for the story, to tell the truth he was really annoying to begin with, and hasn't had any change or character development, even if the tournament, he was too pathetic and grown even more pathetic, he was just unbearable to watch, after all that, at the end, i want to follow my dream's and do things i didn't, even if iam like this, ahh look at me and my resolve. if he had some like that in the beginning or somewhat in the middle of story, i might have care'd. maby

I don't feel sad but don't feel like he deserved that.

There is nothing to feel bad about. Dude made all the wrong choices. MC even gave him a break. Mio did not, she is the embodiment of ruthlessness. And here she wasnt even being ruthless, this guy just did not deserve a second chance. I think the MC would have given him a second chance, but Mio doesnt want to share time with an asshat like this. And everyone already assumed he was dead, including his dad. The only fault here is Mio didnt have enough foresight to use him to MC's advantage, like Tomoe would. However Tomoe addresses this in an earlier issue that its a fault Mio has, so it is just in character. aside from her meger following, the MC is the only time Mio has thought of anyone other than herself. I assume this will be a plot point later on one way or the other

Remember when he said he wanted to talk to Hotpot girl and then pushed her when she wanted to get away from him?
Maybe not worth death but all his choices lead him down that path

He was filled with mindless hate and sough power for revenge, but that path cost him his life.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Im more concern what Makoto will say if he ever know Ilumgand want to redeem himself but Mio just not give the chance.

I hope this Mio's blind loyalty turn into a bigger plot, since they choose to make this scene like its a big deal or something.

@ilusatus There's no way to redeem Ilum. Mio said it herself that he was dead and the only thing left was traces of him. Even after a little while, that would fade, leaving just the monster.
