I wonder if another reason for that teacher to demand the students not to wear their white summer dresses was because the colour symbolized death.

As a documentary it was quite good and some images at the end were pretty disturbing (still not nearly as much as it was in Hadashi no Gen) but as anime it was really boring. I didn't count it but I bet there were more real life footages than actual animation parts. At least the animation for those parts was pretty good.

wish that I could find a complete translation. the only sub i found were based on the latino video which was 10min shorten. as a result some parts were not translated :(

A great documentary, i loved it.

Arghhh, i want to know too what those parts said, 9anime have it incomplete also. my theory is the subber didn't understand enough okinawa ben and only translated the tokyo accent thing >:( the subbers are weeboos and it shows

@Berry-Vodka I watched it on 9anime too (aniwave now), too bad not everything is translated,
The OVA is great, got emotional in the second half, what happened in the war is really cruel, those poor girls, the mother really got me when she started crying in the grave,
I'll give it an 8, a nice documentary with some good animated scenes.

Yeah LOL, this is a real story and people try to analyse it like some fantasy anime.
