The official website for the television anime adaptation of Ken Kawasaki and Yuu Furusawa's Ooi! Tonbo (Hey! Tonbo) manga announced eight supporting cast members on Thursday. The anime is scheduled to premiere on April 6 at 10:00 a.m. on TV Tokyo, followed by BS TV Tokyo, Kagoshima Yomi TV, Wakayama TV, and Nara TV.

Gon jii: Shin Aomori (Dragon Ball Z)
Setsuba: Mizuka Arima (Another)
Bunpei: Junya Enoki (Tonikaku Kawaii)
Youko Adaniya: Mimi Maihane (Pokemon (2023))
Kanchou: Kenji Yamauchi (Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These)
Chuuzai: Kentarou Takano (Hero Mask)
Wataru: Arisa Sekine (Digimon Ghost Game)
Yuuma: Satomi Kobashi (Tengoku Daimakyou)

Jin-Gu Oh (Beyblade Burst Gachi) is helming the anime at OLM. Mitsutaka Hirota (Shoot! Goal to the Future) is handling the series composition and Akira Takeuchi (Inazuma Eleven GO: Galaxy) is designing the characters. Nobuko Toda (RWBY: Hyousetsu Teikoku) is composing the music.

Kawasaki and Furusawa began serializing the sports drama manga in Weekly Golf Digest magazine in August 2014. The Golf Digest Company shipped the 49th volume on March 1.
