Haikyuu!! Final Movie: Battle at the Garbage Dump, the film collected 890 million yen (close to $6 million) on its opening day on February 16, 2024, making it the fourth highest-grossing opening day in Japan's history.

I had honestly thought that the popularity of Haikyuu had waned somewhat in Japan (and internationally) since the huge success of the first few seasons of the anime. But numbers like this are amazing. I never thought what I started watching Haikyuu back in 2014 that I’d ever see one of the movies in the cinema in England. Ten years is a long time.
