According to ANN, the manga for Idaten will end in its 9th volume, and the specific date for the start of the arc is January 26 (3 days from now). It had already caught up to its webcomic version last year (I assume in vol. 7) so vol. 8 and 9 should cover the remaining part of the story's serialization.

I also saw that the manga was entering its final arc which I was really surprised about considering that my website I read manga on is so far behind. to give you an idea, I watched the anime and that was how I was introduced to the series. The last episode ended and I was so confused that they decided to drop it in what felt like the middle of the series. I waited a few weeks and then picked up the manga just to find out that it was behind the anime. I figured that was fine because it wasn't far behind, and then they proceeded to drop a chapter once every like 8 months. it's now been about 2 to 3 years since I watched the anime and the manga is still behind where the anime finished. I just thought the mangaka didn't focus on the anime much, but it seems to be an issue of scanlators catching up to current chapters

I see. I knew that all along. I'm gonna wait then.
