How s this show in comparison with Capeta

I grew up watching Capeta my fav of all time have re-watched Capeta more than 12 times no cap ....

Can I expect the same drama and spirit like in Capeta i absolutely love the combo of Capeta / nobu / monami <3 .. is this show "overtake" anyhow similiar to.that

I haven’t watched Capeta, but Overtake isn't just about racing. It's a story about people first and foremost, their personal struggles and drama, where racing happens to be a part of their lives. One of the main characters is a photographer, and we get to see his story too. Racing is a major element of the show, but it doesn't get full focus in every single episode.

Maybe try watching a couple of episodes and see how it goes, it's only 12 episodes anyway, and a good show by its own right. But probably don't expect the same vibes as in other racing shows.

Capeta has slightly more focus on racing than Overtake! has and has drama that got me really invested especially in the first half of the show (i recently watched this show)

That isn't to say that this show here is bad though, i liked this nevertheless and it had an episode of the year contender (which admittedly is not focused on the racing aspect).

I'd say only about half of the runtime of this series is about racing, the other half is character drama unrelated to racing. I was pulled in by it being marketed as F4 anime, but honestly I really love what I got out of it. It shows that people struggle with many things at once and even if you want to focus on the one thing you want to achieve, you need a lot outside of just pure skill. And people around you who can enable you also need to overcome their demons. It felt really natural because of that.

To be honest, I'm very disappointed. I expected this to be like the new Capeta, but it turned out to be just an average anime about a photographer and some schoolboys.

no it's actually good and after watching the show it's that the main focus is not racing but about hardships of a racer and photographer who support each other to overcome their trauma

it's good in its own way and it shld not be compared with racing shows.

but yeah In general it's so sad to see there are no anime shows which focus on formula racing.

@bezardo I'm not saying it's bad, it's quite good anyway, I'm just saying that disappointment kicks in
