Madam Cat's Walk! Dress-Up Playroom Task 1 of 5 in Kabo-chan's Adventure Series!  How this adventure began... Not many people know that the witch herself, Kabo-chan, resides in the mansion. Friends with everyone in the mansion, including Van Ghost and the Magician, she is no stranger to the everyday people living here. From time to time, she helps out the people in the residence by cleaning the rooms, catching spiders, feeding the fluffy creatures, and other odd activities! Even though she has her own playroom filled with tomfoolery and other shenanigans, she has once again decided to keep her room closed. Why? In her own words: "It's a secret~★" However, this year she felt a bit more adventurous than usual. She did not want to just check the rooms in the mansion, she wanted to elevate the experience of the visitors. If they could have fun exploring in the rooms like she wanted to do before, imagine what kind of fun they would have if she did something extra for them! Maybe they would congratulate her and give her presents? So, while going about her day in the mansion trying to find something special, she stumbled upon an old library. Of course, no room would deny entry to Kabo-chan, so she entered with some excitement and looked around. As if fate was calling to her, there was a stream of light from a tall window falling into a piece of parchment on a stand. With no second thought, she picked it up and started reading it. "Recipe for zombies...?" she asked herself scratching her head. "Oh, I know what to do! Everyone loves a good zombie apocalypse! I am sure everyone would enjoy being a zombie for the day!" she exclaimed loudly and rushed to collect all ingredients. In her hurry, she almost runs you over while you were trying to find your way. Kabo-chan did not apologize, but flashed you a big smile. "Come with me, you'll be my guinea pig helper for the day!" She seemed glad to see you, and while you did not know her yet, you decide to accompany her; telling yourself that you misheard the part where she said "helper." In return for helping her, she will give you main candy and maybe even a bonus candy depending on the activity! These activities, that are split into five rooms and will continue until the end of the event, are accessible through the description of the club. Now what are we waiting for, yet another adventure awaits us! Where we are now... "...and so, as you see I need to find these pieces of clothing as fast as possible." Kabo-chan finished her story after speaking with no break for 10 straight minutes. Madam Cat admittedly seemed to almost have fallen asleep and did not hear the entire tale, but Kabo-chan did not notice. She was just looking at her with excitement waiting for a response. You may not have known Madam Cat before, but during Kabo-chan's speech, you found out that she was an esteemed resident of the mansion who dressed everyone that she deemed important, which explained why she seemed so tired! Maybe there were too many important people to dress? Madam Cat looked at you straight in the eye for a few seconds, as if she read your thoughts, and then turned to Kabo-chan, asking her dress up her esteemed friend. Who knows, maybe she would find what she was looking for in the process? Kabo-chan smiled brightly once again and, in a hurry, began looking around the room for things. All of this, while Madam Cat was still explaining that her friend needed a new hat, a pair of gloves and some... cleaning supplies? "Leave it to us!" Kabo-chan exclaimed, before whispering near you, "...but why does a recipe need a costume... hmm...?" Are you ready? Well, you better be or else neither of you will be rewarded! Kabo-chan would consider everyone that resides in the mansion as her friends, but amongst them are a few people that are very dear to her heart. Queen was one of them. All Kabo-chan knew about her was that she had a tendency of staying in her locked room and do her own activities, be it eating or work with... whatever Queen does, while avoiding almost everyone. Despite that, Kabo-chan knew that Queen had a heart of gold thanks to all the times Kabo-chan had helped her! Whenever Kabo-chan left her food tray outside her door, she would sometimes find these notes just for her, so she was sure she had a special connection with Queen. What people did not know was that Queen had a gourmet taste and Kabo-chan knew she would have an idea of where to find some of these ingredients on the list. She needed to be fast because more and more visitors came along and she wanted to surprise them so much! She reached outside the door with you right on her tracks and before she even knocked on the door, she found a note right on it. You saw Kabo-chan smile again and you peeked at the note. It contained two words repeating in different ways, "Earrings" and "Piercings". This made little sense to you, but Kabo-chan seemed to understand the meaning. She was the oldest resident after all! Of course she knew by now that the note directed her to the people that had those ingredients and she needed to find them. "Thanks!" she exclaimed before running off again. Kabo-chan was no different and had also learnt how to keep her own secrets. She moved through the secret passageways and abandoned rooms so fast that you thought you might end up losing sight of her, but you always managed to catch a glimpse of her pumpkin hat just around a corner. In this occasion, you thought she was leading you to yet another peculiar room. However, you somehow found yourself in an unusually ordinary kitchen. As ordinary as a kitchen can be when it had some floating pumpkins near the ceiling, of course. Kabo-chan started putting some things out of her bag; an apple, a loaf of bread, tomato juice (hopefully), and so on. While this was happening, you suddenly felt a chill running down your spine and looked behind you, only to come face to face with a ghost! Kabo-chan seemed very calm and greeted him. You learnt that his name is Van Ghost Sr. and his job was that of a magnificent painter before and after death and likes to decorate the mansion with his new works every year. Kabo-chan excitedly showed him a small drawing she had made with a body of gray flesh and torn clothes and began to ask him about her current quest. He smiled indulgently at her and pointed out that he could help her, but in his own way. She was never let down by him before, so you naturally went along with her to help him with his new works... Which seemed very fitting of her own idea. She had concocted something in the kitchen and was looking at her trusty helper (you) expectantly, but she did not want to rush. Admittedly, she was not entirely sure of all the steps and she still had some ingredients missing, for which a few of them looked a bit too magical for her tastes. Thankfully, she knew all the residents in the mansion and knew that some of the special herbs she needed would be known by the (not so) friendly troll under the stairs. She held protectively of her bag in case she tripped and went to find the rickety staircase. Upon arriving, you see that no one is there, but something caught your eye. In the darkness under the staircase, there was a shiny paper with some rows and columns. You pointed it to Kabo-chan who was looking thoughtful and she snatched it up right away. "This is it!" she exclaimed, "We are so close to the end now!" Now, it was your turn to look doubtful as you looked at the paper again. Doesn't that just look like a crossword...? What you noticed first though was not the food, but what she was wearing... she was suddenly into a zombie costume holding the bowl of soup. You weren't sure if you should accept, but she had been friendly up until now and you still had little idea how to get out. The mansion held many wonders, but you also saw many things that you would not like to meet alone, so you felt like there was no choice but to submit. You take one big spoonful, a second and a third while closing your eyes and thinking of the outcome of this decision... but you feel nothing but a very nice pumpkin taste in your mouth. You open your eyes and Kabo-chan is looking at you expectantly. You both look at each other for a few seconds before she says "Why isn't this working? You were supposed to turn into a zombie!" and take outs a piece of parchment from her bag. You widen your eyes and stare at her parchment too. After a bit of back and forth while you're eating more of that delicious soup, Kabo-chan says "What do you mean a recipe for zombies is not the same as a recipe for zombies' party? Isn't a zombie party basically creating enough zombies to create a party? You know, a school of fish and a party of zombies!" Still talking, her parchment explodes in a small firework and its place there is a card with many squares. A mysterious messages appears on top: If you want to find the true recipe for zombies, you need to solve this... Oh no, you think, but it's too late. Kabo-chan is already at it... Yet, despite the formidable fortifications that now protected the stone, Fogg found himself curious about the efficacy of his new defenses. To put them to the ultimate test, he extended an invitation to some of the brightest minds of the age, including the renowned detective Sherlock Holmes and the brilliant Aya Rindou, to attempt a breach. Among the select few fortunate enough to receive this intriguing invitation, you stood, poised to participate in this extraordinary challenge. Phileas Fogg stood in his lavishly appointed drawing room, where the priceless Sorcerer's Stone now resided under vigilant guard. The room was adorned with rich mahogany furnishings and adorned with Persian rugs, a stark contrast to the formidable security measures now in place. A maid carrying a bird cage steps forward and raises it, revealing the head of the mysterious detective known as Aya Rindou. Indeed, Mr. Fogg. I'm eager to see if your fortress can withstand our combined wits. But, you've left me wondering, why the sudden interest in testing your defenses?  A matter of curiosity, Miss Rindou. My travels have taught me the unexpected can often be the most rewarding. And what better way to test one's security measures than with some of the finest minds around Holmes raised an eyebrow And should we manage to breach your defenses, Mr. Fogg? Then, Mr. Holmes, I shall be impressed, and you will have earned a worthy prize. But if you fail, your tears of frustration will be your only prize. Intriguing, isn't it, Mr. Holmes? A headless girl in a birdcage, a priceless stone, and a fortress of puzzles. It's as if we've walked into a most extraordinary tale. I wouldn't get your hope up though, I reached far and wide and gathered some of the finest mind around to secure my treasure. In fact, the first part of the puzzle was created by a brilliant mind named Ishida, who hailed from the same far east as Miss Rindou. He alone personally guaranteed me that his section would be impossible until 1964?... 1985?... 19 something—far longer than I would live for and, therefore, far longer than I need it to last. The candlelight sconces throw shadowy light across the paintings you see, making them look sinister, making it seem as if their evil faces were looking directly at you. Locked in a mansion again? How can this happen to me every year? Well, either way, it's time to search for candy... A familiar sign appears down the hallway, one that calls out to you, just as before. The girl's bathroom again, huh? Well, that worked last time, maybe it'll work again. You step into the bathroom again, go to the third stall door, and call out:Hanako-san, Hanako-san, are you there? The bathroom door creaks open to reveal... not the boy from last year, like you were expecting, but a girl wearing an apron that covers a unique, modern-day uniform and holding a mop. Girl: Oh, uh, hi! What are you doing here? Sorry, I was just cleaning the bathroom! You: Oh my god, someone else! Thank goodness! Can you help me? I'm trapped in this mansion, and I met Hanako-kun least year, and he gave me a donut after I rewrote rumors and-- Girl: Wait, slow down! I'm Nene. You said you were trapped? Hanako-kun's away at the moment, but I can see if I can find him. You: Well, mostly what I need is just candy or a donut, not him specifically. Nene: Oh, I did bring some earlier, let me grab one for you! She walks over to a school bag sitting at the edge of the bathroom. You: Wait, that's it? Nene: What do you mean? You: Usually I have to do something complicated to get one of these. Nene: Ohh, that's right. Hmm... oh, I know! Could you clean the bathroom for me? Pleeease? She looks at you with pleading eyes. You: Uh... can I do literally anything else? Nene: A dejected look crosses her face. Yeah, I thought as much. She stands there, thinking for a moment. Oh, I know! You said last year you rewrote some rumors for us, would you want to do that again? You: Oh, uh, sure! That works! Better than scrubbing toilets... Rules: 1. Each rumor about these spirits need to be rewritten with a new story/phenomenon, so that they won't hurt the poor students anymore! 2. Each rewritten rumor needs at least 50 words and no more than 200 words. 3. The bolded object/creature in each original rumor needs to be in present in your rewritten rumor. 4. Each rewritten rumor needs to be harmless/benign (i.e. no lasting injuries, nothing that would seriously negatively affect a students' day-to-day), though it still can be spooky (i.e. a werewolf that used to eat people now just shakes their tents and scares them off), but it doesn't have to be spooky, but it still does have to be magical/mysterious. 5. Submit your answers via this form. 6. Post in this thread saying you've submitted your rumors! 7. There is a chance for a bonus candy that everyone can earn (details below) 1. Have you heard? There’s a plant in the garden by the school will bite you if you get too close. When you stand next to it, whether to look at its bright red flowers or to smell the flower next to it, you’ll feel a sharp pain and discover a bite mark on your arm. Some students even got nasty allergic reactions that landed them in the hospital! A few students have tried pulling the flower out, but each time it grows back the day after. Weird, right? 2. Have you heard? No matter how much the teams want to train, the basketball court is abandoned on Sundays. There have been multiple incidents where a student has been running at top speed, only to slip… on a large puddle of blood that had suddenly appeared, often hurting themselves. No one knows where the puddle comes from, and by the time Monday comes around, it’s gone. After one first year seriously injured his back, the school has locked it every Sunday since. Who knows why the puddles keep appearing, maybe someone died there! 3. Have you heard? There’s a school hallway that, though usually is a shortcut between the classrooms and the gym, no one uses it, after a few certain incidents. A few months ago, a student would walk down the hallway not suspecting anything, but when the turned the corner, they didn’t see the usual sight, but instead an impossibly long hallway. All of the doors in this hallway were locked, and when they looked through any windows, they just saw a heavy mist. The student would continue wandering, occasionally turning into another offshoot hallway, only for that one to stretch on forever, too. This would continue for days, and only when the student was starving and getting close to dying of thirst would they finally turn a corner and see their usual hallway, finding out that the time they had spent in that impossible maze was only seconds in the regular world, yet their hunger and thirst remained. Each student had to be rushed to the hospital afterwards to recover. Now that hallway is roped off, and there is talks among the administration of walling it off. 4. Have you heard? Have you heard? No matter how delicious the food in the cafeteria looks on any Friday the 13th, the students always bring their own lunches from home instead. It’s been said that anyone that eats the food that day will end up vomiting and sick all week, only recovering the Friday afterwards. The school investigated both the quality of the food and the cafeteria workers, but they couldn’t find anything amiss. At this rate, it seems that they just might close the cafeteria on those Fridays. 5. Have you heard? No one uses the life-size skeleton model in the science room, and there’s talk that it’s due to a curse. Whenever the teacher would bring it out for anatomy demonstrations, anyone who got to close was in for a painful surprise. Suddenly it would reach out, grabbing the student or teacher fiercely, leaving nasty bruises. That’s terrifying enough, but the strange thing is the bruises never fade after that. No one sees it moving, but they can see the bruises, so the administration thought it might just be a prank. Regardless, after a dozen or so incidents, they locked the skeleton in a storage closet in the classroom, never to be taken out for demonstrations again. Even now, though, if you walk past the closet, sometimes you can hear what sounds like bones scrap against metal…  As you leave the bathroom, who should pop in front of you but... Hanako-kun? Wait, no, though they have the same face, this boy has a black seal on the opposite cheek of the Hanako you know from last year. You: Woah, who are you? Tsukasa: I'm Tsukasa! I heard you were looking for candy! A wide, mischievous grin spreads across his face. You: Yeah, were you looking to give some? Tsukasa: Maybe not "give" so much as "trade." You see, I find the old rumors you all spread last year to be so safe and boring. I want something exciting! Maybe with explosions! Ka-boom! You: Yeah? So what do you want me to do? Tsukasa: I'll give you a candy if you rewrite this rumor to be dangerous, scary, and hurt the students. You: Really? That seems... mean, don't you think? Tsukasa: Really? Hmm... You know what? I don't care! You want that candy right? Please? He looks at you with wide, begging eyes. You: Oh, all right. After all, this place isn't really real... right? For the bonus candy, you'll be rewriting a rumor from last year to be harmful again! This time it does need to hurt the students, but in a different way from the original rumor (which was that when the students lie, they wake up with cuts the next morning). While these are harmful, remember to follow MAL's guidelines, and to not write anything too graphic! Also remember to include the bolded subject in your rewritten rumor. Some major changes from previous years, so make sure to read everything. Read Me!: The goal of this room is to save the world from anime characters by using the Death Note. This is a game based off Death Note and other popular anime, so it will require basic anime knowledge. This room will be open from October 24th at 20:00 GMT until October 26th at 21:00 GMT. Calculate your time zones accordingly. Ryuk came to you and gave you info that anime antagonists were attacking. He gave you a paper of the Death Note with clues on it in regards to which antagonists were attacking. He even said there was an evil mastermind behind the attack. After solving the clues, you also figured out that Ryuk was the mastermind and killed him using the weapon he gave you. But that was only the beginning. There was a deeper mastermind all along manipulating Ryuk from the shadows. The real mastermind has finally decided to deal with you personally. The new mastermind, who was hooded to hide his identity, brought another slew of anime characters, this time protagonists, to destroy your world. However, he gave you the same chance of defeating them as Ryuk did. After much effort spent pouring over every word of each clue, you also discovered that the mastermind of the game was none other than anime-prime. While that may have seemed to be the end of the story, there was actual a much darker secret about the true nature of the game, and you are about to be given your final chance to reveal the actual real mastermind. The actual real mastermind, who remained hidden while whispering instructions in your head, brought another slew of anime characters, this time characters who were close to the characters from previous years, to destroy your world. However, this new mastermind gave you the same chance of defeating them as Ryuk and anime-prime did. After much effort spent pouring over every word of each clue, you also discovered that the mastermind of the game was none other than yourself, thus being caught in a catch 22 and techinically losing the game even if you won. You died. While that may have seemed to be the end of the story, there was actually a much darker secret about the true nature of the game, and you are about to be given your final chance to reveal the truly actual real mastermind. Story: Somehow....you returned. On a breezy Autumn afternoon, while out on your daily stroll, an object falls out of the sky and drops in front of you. You pick it up and see that it is a Death Note. Suddenly, a loud commanding voice directs your attention to its source. The hooded figure tells you of the dire news. Eighteen anime characters have been summoned to your non-fictional reality against their wishes and their bodies and powers aren't fit to be in your world. Thus, they will blow up very soon and take out entire continents with them. All seems lost! Thankfully, the hooded figure explains that the only way to stop it is to use the Death Note and write their names in it. There are already clues that have been written in the Death Note for each character to give you a chance of getting it right. This will be your toughest challenge yet. To win will be very difficult, yet perhaps you may accomplish the task. If you manage to survive and also write down the name of the new hooded mastermind, this time you can also keep the death note as a trophy of your success. If you fail though, you will be written out of existence. You possess all the knowledge of what the Death Note can do and know how to use its power. However, this Death Note has been given a power boost for the sake of this game and now has the power to affect even beings that aren't human and beings even with immortality of any sort. All you need to do is write down the characters name. There is a problem though. You don't know who the specific anime characters are. There is only one way to figure out their identities. The hooded figure was kind enough to write down general hints and specific hints on the page about the characters. Write the specific character's name by each of the affiliated hints in order to kill them before they blow up and kill you and the rest of the world. Just send me a PM confirming that you resubmitted the form. 5: Three incorrectly guessed hints in the same grouping results in a game over. As does two incorrectly guessed hints for the same continent among the three groupings. Again, you can have two tries with the questionnaire, but you will need to wait until I tell you if you lost before you try again. The limit this time will be only two chances. So if you fail the first time, you will have only one more chance to win. 6: You win the game by not dying and getting to the Finale and succeeding to guess the final hint, killing the mastermind of the anime characters' "assault" and saving the world. Again, you can have two tries with the questionnaire, but you will need to wait until I tell you if you lost before you try again. 7: General Updates will be posted in this thread, so make sure to watch this thread daily. Specific player updates, like if you won or lost, will be sent via PM within hopefully 24 hours after you submit the form and edited into your post after the room closes. 8: Winning the game awards you the main candy. A bonus candy will be given to those who won the game on the first try and guessed two whole groupings correctly. A second bonus candy will be given if every guess in all the groupings are guessed correctly on the first try. So it is possible to acquire the main candy and two bonus candies. There might be an opportunity in the result event at the end to win a bonus candy (assuming you don't win two bonus candies on the first try). New: For users that can't make it to the first collab event, the discord room won't be deleted. So you will be able to scroll through and see what they did for each clue, and you are able to ask players from the collab event for help as long it's before the first attempt deadline. Your curiosity got the better of you and you ventured inside to see what was hiding within. As soon as you make it through the doors, however, the gate slams shut behind you, trapping you inside How the Game Works - To escape from the crypt, you must solve the riddles left on the tombs hidden inside - Each tomb has a reference to an anime or manga written on it. You need to figure out what the reference is to guess the correct anime/manga - To earn  from the Cursed Chamber, you need to solve one of the four tombs below. Be warned, they increase in difficulty. If you can solve every riddle in the Easy Chamber, you get the main candy and a bonus candy. If you can solve the Hard Chamber as well, you get a second bonus candy.- The Hard Chamber can also be worth a main candy and a bonus candy, but it will take a lot of time and it's highly recommended you get your main candy from the Easy Chamber. Rules - The crypt will be closing forever on Oct 31 at 5 pm BST. Use this form to submit your answers when you think you have them and leave a comment in the thread so you can get your results. - You have unlimited attempts to submit your answers. Don't be afraid to try again (It's a good idea to keep your answers written down somewhere. Neon Genesis Evangelion The translated clue is: Stop! Here is the empire of angels. The angels are in reference to the angels in Evangelion. Since that clue is a little vague, there was also a little clue in the picture as well.   Shiki The blurred text on both stones is Seishin Muroi (室井静信). The left stone translates to: (Muroi) Family Ancestral Grave. The right tomb had the main clue. It translates to: (Seishin Muroi) Monk of Sotoba. The kanji (外場) doesn't translate because it's a made-up town. However, if you separate the kanji, 外 is pronounced as 'soto' and 場 is 'ba.' Put those together and a Google search should bring up the fictional town's wiki and show the kanji name. Also, since this one was a little complicated, the banner for the chamber was also a little hint. Vanitas no Karte The text translates to: Here lies the doctor to the bloodsuckers (bloodsuccers was the direct translation spelling). The reason the dragon was also on the rock was to help you figure out what kind of runes they were. The dragon is the Welsh dragon which is also the old symbol for Anglo-Saxons, therefore Anglo-Saxon runes. One Piece To everyone who attempted to try and solve this, I applaud you. It took me an hour and a half to type out and that was with background knowledge in hieroglyphs. For this tomb, there were three ways to solve it. First Way: The first way is actually translating the hieroglyphs. I never expected so many people to try as hard as they did to translate them. Some of you did such an amazing job figuring out the pronunciations. Here is the proper translation: rmṯ nb ı͗r.ty=sn ḫt nb(t) ḏw r nw (As for) anyone who will do anything evil against this (tomb) ꜥḳ.ty=sn im ngw who will enter there destructively, msḥ r=sn m mw the crocodile is against them in the water, ḥfꜣw r=sn ḥr tꜣ the snake is against them on land, db r=sn m mw the hippopotamus is against them in the water, ḏꜣrwt r=sn ḥr tꜣ the scorpion is against them on land. The clues are the recurring animals. All of them have some kind of relation to One Piece, especially Crocodile and Scorpion. Second Way: The second way is picking up on the fact that the Easy Chamber banner could be used as a clue. So, the character in the Hard Chamber banner wasn't picked at random. Third Way: This is the way I think most of you got the answer. For the past several Maloweens, every room I've run has had dozens and dozens of people who submit completely random guesses. Those random guesses are almost always One Piece. So, if any of you were just putting that down because you had no clue and just didn't want to leave it empty, congrats. You got it right. Easy Chamber  Looking around the crypt, you see a spread of tombs laid out in front of you. What could these all be for?    Hard Chamber  There's one more tomb sitting in the corner of the crypt. It seems much older than the other tombs. And it has some strange writing on it. You have been looking for a way to make a drastic change to your life and for something that will bring back your excitement and make you feel fulfilled everyday." The pen that was set on the table starts moving on it's own (!!!) and writes the final words of your reading on the notepad in front of you: If you feel like you're stuck in life, why not take the first step to living the life that YOU want? Although you might be afraid of losing what you know and have, you'll realize that those things were never of much importance in the first place. Not important enough to keep holding you back from the future that you desire for yourself. Stunned at how accurately this kid managed to address your biggest worry, you realize that the crowd outside wasn't because of some big-name fortune-teller, but rather because this kid seems to be the real deal.
