| Nopes they don't say how or who she had child for :/ Definitely seems like they wanted to go for another season but ran out of money or show was not popular. Doesn't even seem to be based on a manga were you could get more answers. |

| It was alluded to by Isla, in episode ten. When she was talking to Keel about how Teen hides his emotions, she mentioned how she was once the same - tellingly, after something bad happened to her. With no mention or hint of a former love throughout the show, I can't help but put two and two together. Her happily hugging males and whatnot does go against the idea of her having been raped, but she was only shown starting with the day of her child's birth; meaning she'd have had a lot of time to heal her mental wounds. I still don't think it was realistic for her to act how she did around males if she was raped, but at the end of the day her charm was her straightforward love/caring for others and working so hard after no doubt suffering a hard life. By the way, Tide-Line's potential was off the charts, and I don't understand its low average. It could have been so much more had the main characters' back-stories and relationships been covered in far greater detail, and it did frustrate me that my main plot thread of interest - Keel growing as a person out of love for Isla - wasn't seen through to conclusion, but an average of 6.80 is still a joke on a site like this... |
| It is pretty obvious that she was raped. Also I really like her character and the show has much unused potential. Nevertheless, after seeing 10 Episodes, I would give it a 8. |

| At first, I also thought she was raped, especially considering how young she is (I don't think her age was disclosed but Keel/Teen are 14 so she can't be more than a couple of years more than that). But by the end, I couldn't see her personality fitting that idea. It doesn't seem like she had been in a previous relationship with a resident, otherwise it wouldn't make sense for Keel to swoop in so soon. He certainly would've have known that man and would have mentioned about him sometime (especially if he had died somehow for extra sympathy points). So I feel that she just got knocked up by a random traveler/sailor, someone that stayed a short time without being memorable and had one night together before taking off. |
