| I enjoyed the Girls Und Panzer tv anime, I should check out one of the zillion movies too My favorite anime movie is The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. I think it is an absolutely brilliant culmination Kyon's character development and of everything that has happened in the story so far.  And while the movie itself is amazing, it had like 24 episodes of anime behind it, so I should probably mention stand-alone movies too. It's hard for me to get attached to anime movies since they're so short, but one that I stood out to me was Summer Wars. I found that the gigantic gathering of family felt very real and hit home for me. It's probably one of the best representations of family I have seen in anime.  |

On average, I think that anime movies are better than tv series, but I don't think they reach the heights that tv series reach. That being said, Tamako Love Story is and has been my favourite anime movie for quite a while.   It faithfully captures how change is a part of everyone's life, and how we approach this change. I wasn't that enamoured with it's parent series (Tamako Market), but I was shocked at how different this movie felt, with multiple quiet and relatable character moments. One of the most accurate and familiar portrayals of youth I've seen in anime. |
