@cat-burglar Yeah, I'm gonna cry. Crunchyroll / Funimation is funny about Idol shows in general though. Love Live is the only idol series that ever had an English dub. Also, Crunchyroll is missing alot of stuff such as the original Idolmaster series and movie along with the two movie sequels to the first Wake Up, Girls series. If you haven't seen Shine Post then that's one you definitely need to. The animation during the performance sequences are actual animation, not CGI. In fact it was some of the best animation I saw last year. It's on HiDive but if you don't have that then I'm sure you have other ways of seeing it. Here's a tease!

oh wow it looks so good!! it’s so refreshing to have no cgi for once. I will definitely look into it.

I think idol shows just aren’t profitable in the west unfortunately…I wish they were a little more popular.

it's normal, idolmaster remains a niche license outside of Japan and it's not because they licensed Cinderella in 2015 (which wasn't good) that they were going to buy the rights in 2023

The only hope I have is that people will make a fantrad for this anime
and it's the same problem for shiny colors obviously

@Ninoto Cinderella Girls is my favorite.. Mika Jougasaki! Love it. I went in reverse with this franchise though, lol. First I watched U149 when it aired and then a couple months ago I watched the original Cinderella Girls series and then I watched the very first Idolmaster series and movie. Now I was hoping that Million Live would be on Crunchyroll so I could catch up with the OG crew. I guess tomorrow we'll find out for sure since that's when it airs.

@Honeypon Well I'm 41 and just got into anime when I was 36. Followed by visual novels and manga as well. Love Live was what got me into Idol anime for sure but I've watched nearly all of them since, lol. Shine Post sticks out the most to me due to its flawless animation. Imagine if MAPPA or Ufotable decided to do an Idol anime. That would be Shine Post.

I second watching Shine Post.

I think Studio Kai is very good at animating and translating the mocap into 2D extremely well.

@thehornedrat Yeah, I really don't think I've seen any other Idol anime that had as good of animation as Shine Post. Well, maybe Selection Project. Then again the director of Selection Project went on to direct Oshi no Ko so that actually tracks.

Even Crunchyroll knew this was going to be a steaming hot mess of garbage it sounds like. Between hideous CGI animation, awful and dated music, and the most boring writing since season 2 of Love Live: Nijigasaki; I don't blame them.

I'm enjoying it but I've only been an Idolmaster fan since I watched U149 back in the Spring and then retroactively watched all the prior material in the franchise, lol. I've been a fan of Love Live for a few years now though and Nijigasaki is my absolute favorite of the franchise. Still waiting for Season 2 of Superstar to get dubbed before I watch it. The Yohane spin-off was really fun too.

@DaddyDubs I will say that the art and animation of Cinderella Girls U149 was definitely the best in the series.
