I'm feeling like there no use on watching the anime adaptation because it's an incomplete adaptation. According to MangaUpdates, it adapts 108 chapters and chapter 220 for the OVA.

Would you watch it even if it's incomplete?

If I watched animes only if they were a complete adaptation, I would not be watching any anime at all, idc if it's complete or not as long as it's good

As said by the user above... 90% of Animes are incomplete adaptation of their source materials.
If you choose to watch only complete stories , you will not watch a lot before completely stopping to watch Japanese animation...

yea, it's a great show. but if you like reading then I guess that's all that matters. the ova does give us what we didnt get at the end of season 1 and that's some closure. there's alot of material taking place after the ova for sure.

The issue with this is that if everyone did this no one would get to watch anime. In most cases the anime is just a giant ad for a manga or light novel. I don’t have to spell it out but your outliers like Bleach, One Piece, Naruto, and many other that the anime finishes the story. that’s not always gonna happen if a season of anime does well with manga sales and blue ray sales it might get a season 2. Though if it takes more than 2 seasons to tell the story honestly prob not happen sadly unless it’s Shonen and they can put a lot of money into it.

I mean... This has way less content compared to other adaptations, a season 2 will probably never happen.

The format used in the web manga is pretty enjoyable to read along with it having color.

Season 1: good
Then read the web comic
Then come back and watch the anime OVA just because you don’t care about the adaptation since you got closure already and want to enjoy seeing the characters again

I'd read the manga first, then visit the anime if you want to see it animated.

I think the Anime was great too. You won't feel like stuff is missing or anything. But the web Manga is just so much better. I watched the Anime first and loved it. Then I got to know that the web Manga has like 232 chaps or something. And I was like no way they fitted it all in just 17 EPs. I started the Manga from the beginning because I don't even wanna miss any small details. The Anime didn't really cut anything that might affect the story. But a lot of depth to the characters and many character moments were cut. And for a Manga like this, which literally is more character based than the story that just wasn't right.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants to start the series to start with the Manga. It'll be worth it.

It was really rushed, especially the OVAs, 100 chapters in 4 episodes is just way too cramped

It's one of my favorite animes of all time! Yes, the OVA is rushed, but I loved this complete story all the same. I read the web comic too, which was even better, and I wish it had gotten another season instead of the OVAs, but I'm still happy we got an ending in animated form either way.

I'm actually surprised that the community here is so peaceful, usually when a manga gets an 'incomplete' adaptation the readers will be mad and give the anime a score of 1/10, here it's the other way around. No hating and statistics look healthy especially with over a million members.

Having finished the anime recently and having no experience with the manga, I could tell that it's a bit on the short side. Maybe too short to develop some of the relationships.
