So now Harry knows of Brandon's complete loyalty to him, he's completely snapped and gone crazy. Time for another time-skip.

Big Daddy's harmony thing is a bit cliche. I mean , heck , they were killing people , not helping anyone at all.

Maria's reaction to Brandon's death and her being willing to risk her own life - as well as her child's - in order to avenge him makes it even more frustrating how badly Brandon treated her. She cared so little about her future with Big Daddy and so much about the fate of a dead man - it says it all, really. Oh well...

Big Daddy came across like an old man without any drive was left... which was what he was. It's hard to be at peace with everyone when you're the head of a criminal organization! Harry was right on the money when he said that, if it wasn't for Big Daddy (and Brandon's stupidity) that he wouldn't have lost his best friend. Just think about it: if Brandon hadn't swallowed the whole 'Code of Iron' nonsense, he'd have supported Harry 100% AND banged Maria. Grrrr.

Harry was corrupted by power and was on a path leading towards unhappiness - there's no doubt about that. But I'm still more in the Harry camp, pre-timeskip because at least he was always true to himself... unlike Brandon, who tried to make everyone happy, didn't care for his own happiness and ended up getting a bullet through his left eye for his troubles.

Well it turns out that Brandon wasn't as ignorant as I though, just unbelievably obtuse and clumsy. He misjudged how far Harry would go and misjudged how important he was to Maria.

On the other hand Big Daddy could have avoided all of this. If he had appointed Harry as his inmediate succesor, Brandon and Harry would never have had to face each other off and 'harmony' would have been kept.

From now on I guess it's all nasty zombie combat. I wonder how Maria's daughter managed to survive 13 years with Harry and the might of MIllenion behind her.

Oh so that's how it was. Brandon knew that Harry was turning traitor and he still didn't kill him. Oh man, this friendship ;-;
Also, I can't help it but love Harry's personality, I know how corrupted and hungry for power he is but when I see him blindly justifying his bad actions just to not feel guilty...I love that, it makes him even more interesting to me.

Pretty interesting episode, while I still don't really get why this anime scores this high it did improve in these latter episodes but in my opinion is still lacking some crucial points in actually being good.

I'm assuming the girl from the first episode is Maria's and the Boss' child.

I like how calmly big daddy reacted to Brandon's letter where he causally talked about Harrys plans to revive the dead. That aside this series is really additive, it far surpassed my expectations.

Brandon was so kind that he knew all about Harry's plan and tried to believe in him until the end, also, asked to be turned into a dead alive to protect the syndicate...
Harry not just killed Big Daddy like he wants to destroy everything Daddy's touched, it means he will go after Maria...

If he couldn't kill him in the elevator I'm not sure why you'd expect him to have been able to kill him earlier.

I know it's a very old post, forgive the notification. I'm more quoting this for myself than responding.

Big Daddy may have been a mafia leader, but he was also a gentleman. Harmony means having the authority to control the city without terrorizing it. Not killing civilians, not involving innocent family members of mafia, and not over expanding territory. Basically keeping the criminal underworld separate from the surface. It also means keeping a certain code of honor among criminals so that anarchy doesn't break out where everyone vies for dominion. Harry wants to undo all of that as he plunges headfirst into whatever path will grant him more power. The necrolyze experiment is evidence of that - committing a taboo that upsets the slumber of the dead and creates horrific massacres.

That's some serious loyalty Brandon had for the organization, to choose to serve them even after death...

Great episode with all the additional reveals. Everything came nicely together and I gotta say that I'm really invested in all these characters and their relationships.

Damnnn Harry going berserk after hearing that Brandon knew what he was doing... and he really killed Big Daddy, now it's gonna be even worse for when Brandon (Beyond the Grave now) will be unleashed.

I didn't think Grave would be so obedient. Millennion did nothing for Brandon except corrupt and whisk away everything he cared about, only to cruelly dispose of him at the end and slander his name in the history books. Maybe Grave hasn't developed consciousness or sentience yet.

Brandon is someone who is supposedly an emotional and honest person, yet the only times his sentimental feelings dictated his actions, it was to a corrupt and debased mafia organisation that he has no particular reason to be so attached to. I can't rationalise Brandon's inexplicable love for Millennion; it just comes across as contrived writing. Crime is what has continually ruined him and what he cares about, yet he idiotically and naively worships it as a device for generating conflict with those who have a more pragmatic (and realistic) approach to it.

If Big Daddy wanted to repay Brandon's loyalty to the organisation, then not banging the woman he loved would be a good start. Having him "rest forever" when Brandon specifically mentioned he wanted to be revived doesn't exactly repay him either.

Everybody is basically dead now, it's BEYOND THE GRAVE. Even the guy who thinks he's still alive is basically dead, he just doesn't know it yet. (:,

All that backstory was OK, very ambitious series. I honestly just wanted a cyberpunk fight.
