THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- +1 for being even released +1 for some mecha +1 for somewhat watchable cg and few laughs Seriously, I hope they gave away tickets for free. Horribly uninspired anime. |

I may be an oddball, but I felt that this movie was pretty good. Great even. 9/10. Well I dun particularly like military or mecha stuff but there was a heavy emphasis on the main characters and there was considerably high character development. PS. Is the commander tsundere? Lol. |

Agree with op, completely uninspired. 5/10 for watchable special effects though. |

Not that bad, but not great either. Would just enough satisfy your mecha needs (considering that Gundam 00 is still not subbed, Break Blade takes too long and it's just now that new mecha are coming with the season). |

animation was amazing. as for the story, its hard to find newly released anime wit an original plot and everything so i wasnt rly expecting much from it. It did have good character development though so...im pleased enough. 9/10 for enjoyment's sake |

Amazing animation.... I thought it was decent. I mean, after watching Advent Children Complete or even Appleseed and Spirits Within, Planzet just doesn't seem to push the envelope any further in terms of CG. Would've been better as a short, like 10 minutes, feature. |

Decent animation...painfully terrible plot.....6/10...[ never gave a 5 to something in my life] |

agreed with mel-hime good enough animation but weak plot (though you can't get much out of a 50 min show) ... 6/10 ... I hate the ending song the most LOL |

However the story could have seen some more advancement. I mean, we're given a crappy backstory and an even crappier ending so... But I've got to say: the overall premise of the movie is very good. They just didn't develop the story very well. Nice enough watch for a bored person with nothing better to do. Gave it 6/10 for the possibilities - and visuals. (Actually I've never given anything less than 6 I think) |

Rated it a 1, even if only to deviate the score by a slight 0.00000001. I sincerely hope no-one else will ever fall into watching this horrible trap of an anime, because quite frankly, it was crap. The characters were poorly fleshed out, and everything from the plot to the animation seemed ridiculous and unjustified, in short it made no sense whatsoever. I could continue nit-picking at every single flaw in this movie, but by that time I'd hate myself and I could've watched several other decent anime movies. To sum up, I felt nothing for this 'anime' (if it can even be called one, though it was technically animated) except for pure disgust. If you don't mind a non-existent plot, graphics that were way inferior to FFVII-AC, then might've have been enjoyable for you.. For everyone else, I hope you didn't feel as bad as me. otaku1793 said: What development? Like some lame sub-conscious image of his dad encouraging him, which allowed him to power up to over 9000 and with the help of some super mecha destroy an asteroid? Nah... I didn't actually think anyone would be stupid enough to cram any form of post-apocalyptic scenario into a 50-minute movie. It won't work, it just wont. As for the animation, have you ever heard of Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children? No? I'll even link you =)animation was amazing. as for the story, its hard to find newly released anime wit an original plot and everything so i wasnt rly expecting much from it. Well, it's expected as this wasn't made by some renowned director or company. As for the enjoyment, I almost vomited, haven't seen something terrible in years. Reminded me of some poorly made-western animation. The ending theme was decent, it fit with the theme of the movie.I liked this movie, I wouldn't say the animation was good. The way the characters moved and the animations of them just didn't seem right. I thought this was a really funny movie, I really couldn't stop smiling while I was watching it. I don't think it would have been as funny and entertaining for me if there was a good serious story going on. The ending theme was pretty good too. |

... so, once again, the day is saved thanks to an EMOTIONALLY TROUBLED TEENAGER ( how original ) ! ... and also thanks to his dead father's punch ! I'll give this show a 3/10 just cause they had great voice acting ( Miyano Mamoru FTW <3 ! ) and decent animation ... the rest was just crap. |

The mechas and the action were awesome, the plot was crap. I give it 6/10 because maybe I was expecting something else in the beginning. :P I think the narrator in the beginning of the movie sounds like the narrator from Legend of the Galactic Heroes who was credited here in Planzet as Comissioner Yoshizawa too. It's highly probable that Yuusaku Yara is the narrator in here as well. |

I saw a clip of a scene from this movie on youtube and decided to check it out. It's pretty swallow overall, animation was great but man it was lacking any substance of a solid plot and characters. Basically a sentence or two was the entire worth of each character and the plot was something any average anime fan could type up in one night I'm sure. This got my interest in seeing potentially better 3DCGI movies of its like because Planzet didn't satisfy my interest of this sub genre at all. |

It was alright. As been said, great CG (the lip-syncing could've been better) and what little action was good. But it was wayyyyyyyyyyy too slow, they should've sped things up, added a little more mech action, and wrapped within 20-30 minutes. That way it would've been more dynamic and all that boring drama could've been easily overlooked. In fact, they should have been made it on that last Russian offensive and had 1 big battle, then continued off after the D-Cannon failed. Or even ended with the sister escaping to Mars and watching the Earth get destroyed, and maybe setup for a sequel with Mars developing technologies for a counterattack. 6.5 imouto smacks /10 |
