About the animation

So, i just finished both Season 01 and the OVA, and although i was really hyped to watch Golden Kamuy as a whole, the animation and just the anime production overall was really disappointing, horrible CGI, weird action scenes and even poorly drawn static frames, my main question here is: I belive the story is actually good, so i was planning in reading the manga, but i know the animation does get better at some point, when does this happens?

my suggestion would be to continue the anime instead
the manga has alot of historical background that can be boring sometimes
the anime just adapts the important parts

I read the first chapter, just to see how different It is from the anime, and i'm actually interested into reading the manga, the art seems above average, and the historical details might even add some extra layers to this universe

Reimei from My First Story x Sayuri is a banger though

I finished the manga and watched the first three seasons of the anime. Would definitely recommend reading the manga, it's an amazing read. The anime's first season is indeed very rough but later seasons are a moderate improvement. The manga keeps being superior in every aspect.

I’ve watched all 4 seasons and read the whole manga. I personally think the manga is the better experience but I still love the anime. So either way I don’t think you can go wrong.

Seasons 2 and 3 looks much better. Season 4 kinda drops the ball due to the studio change, but you can see a definite upgrade in quality in the 2nd and 3rd seasons and I feel they're def worth watching

the art is amazing and depending on which scan you read they give more context and historical detail, and also is not divided in OVAs, the manga is the better way

I think foe historical type of anime like this the animation is quite right on point. loved the stry and the characters progressiveness. waiting for s5.

If the animation and art quality is your only gripe, then keep watching because they did a much better job from s2 onward. I think the studio just didn’t want to invest too much time and money into a new project until they saw that it was going to be successful
