This has been bugging the hell out of me from the start, he's supposed to be an otaku for vending machines which is part of why he can use so many items and change forms.  So why in the hell does he not have one that has an lcd to write out text or hell a screen for video, these things are out there and would make the make the dialog less frustrating imo.

Couldn’t you tell from episode 1 that it had no interest on actual logic? Or is this your first time experiencing shows like these.

in the last episode he literally said he could unlock telepathy but he doesn't want to because reasons (if I didn't understand wrong). Now if said telepathy can actually make him talk like a normal person or only with the preprogrammed sentences we don't know.

oh also he has already tried writing on a screen but the text comes out in Japanese, which is not the language of the world.

he has a ton of lcds displays and can even print receipts but can only writte those base msgs "thanks you" "you might win an extra prize"
on the last ep he came out and said he already has enough points to unlock telepathy but he is deadly afraid of being less usefull or interesting if he does.
only being able to comunicate with yes or no kinda shapes his personality into "a mysterious humam trapped into a machine", he is afraid his new friends will find his acual personality disapoiting
but at some point ge has to do it ig

Actually it did follow logically, the vending machine LCD was limited to only showing the regular responses.

Follow the story.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

You are claiming that there are vending machines that write more than regular responses?

Is this an A.I. machine?

The LCD that came up only could show regular responses, which frustrated Boxxo

I thought he wished he could unlock something like telepathy?

just like everyone said. he can't write anything besides basic pre-written responses.

and even if, let's say, he could write whatever he wants on an LCD display, not a single soul in this world would understand japanese.

A: he does have an LCD he can write text on, but it’s limited to the set phrases he can already say with his voice. He does also have the option to get the telepathy skill, but he gives his explanation why he doesn’t want to get that when he talks about it in episode 8.

1- Dunno, man. Before this kind of thing becomes a plot-hole, you actually need to find a vending-machine that does that. He probably wouldn’t even be able to write whatever he wants, anyways.

2- People there straight up wouldn’t understand written Japanese. This is a confirmed fact in the show.

3- It costs points. Probably.

4- You really looking for deep internal logic on this anime out of everything? Bro has survived as a vending machine for weeks straight without moving, communicating with anyone or even missing his fucking family. That’s an alternative form of solitary confinement, one of the worst tortures known to man. Bro has straight up endured more objective mental stress than most fictional characters could ever dream to do. And do you know how the anime treats this issue? It doesn’t lmao. Fuck it.

I don't think missing something in your life is a problem. It's the complete oppisite of having a addiction most times being benetifical. so i'm good because i don't see the problem. Unlike how your doing right now.

That’s not the problem I’m speaking of.

Of course you would refuse to listen and then change the subject to avoid recognizing my actual point.

I’m saying, if you lack the patience and attention span to watch and follow a simple anime, then you have a huge problem.

It is your own fault for not knowing what the anime is about, but then you blame the anime, as if they didn’t explain something.

The truth is that you missed everything you mentioned.

I refused to listen because your point is utter bs.

As for your point. I was obivously talking about it not being that good of a story that of course doesn’t mean it’s not a good story for other people, heck in general. But i persobally think it’s one of those you can compare to other shows and find a really similiar premise as if it’s a template for author’s. You can enjoy the vending isekai there’s maybe something you really like about it. Perhaps you read the manga, perhaps you just enjoy everything that’s cool. So i don’t get why not being able to enjoy a show that you have is a problem people have. I can out you for dropping shows that you’ve not enjoyed. It’s as simple as not enjoying them. That’s not a problem.

regardless of the logic of how something like that would work in the plot and the world of this show, I'd be surprised if he ever gains the ability to have a proper conversation, unless it's in the last few scenes of the show or something.

having a restriction like this is part of what makes the show interesting, it's part of the gimmick. cause if he were able to hold normal conversations with the other characters and say his real meanings out loud, a significant number of the challenges in the plot would be non-issues and he'd be much less different than any other character.

I’m taking about how you not following the anime story, then acting like the anime didn’t explain things that it actually did explain. Then saying it is not good based on what you thought. That is not good.

You are also saying something very silly. There are chefs all over the world that make the same food dish, but each dish is uniquely different because the chefs makes it their own way. Same for Isekai, they all have certain similarities in the surface story, but they are all uniquely different in the main story that the creators are telling.

If you just hyper focus on the surface level things, while ignoring the main story that makes them unique, then you are not following the anime as an unbiased watcher.

This story of Boxxo the vending machine is uniquely different than other isekai and it is also cleverly written in that context.

yes. chef's around the world make the same dish slightly different but would you eat 10 dishes of only different bread? no. your appetite would not be satisfied and the bread would be dry.
