| There was a poll in season 1 discussion threads but not many answered, and the last time someone did was in 2021. Years have passed and much more people have finished season 1 dan are now watching season 2, so there are more solid and wider range of opinions on this. I'm about to dive into the first season (seen the first episode) but am hesitant between the two dubs (because i don't want to regret it and watch it again in the other dub). I'm currently leaning towards the Chinese dub since it's the original, same like i watch anime in general in Japanese dub because it's the original. The problem is, it's easier to choose between Japanese dub and English dub (because Japanese VAs' are simply amazing and only a percentage of English dubs are great) than to choose between Japanese dub and Chinese dub for this (again, because even though Japanese is not the original, high quality performance can be expected). I wonder if the original Chinese dub for Link Click is even better than the Japanese dub that comes with guaranteed quality. What do you think is the best dub for Link Click (both seasons) if i value "voice acting that feels real/alive, raw/authentic emotions etc"? |

| Chinese dub at least for this series is stellar. JP dub isn't bad but it just fails to capture the nuance of the original. |
| Well, brother, I would highly recommend seeing it in Chinese. It is more enjoyable to listen to the original language of the work, for several reasons: What I'm getting at is that listening to it in the original language (Chinese) is more enjoyable because it's made for that dubbing, and when you switch it to Japanese I'm not saying it's worse, but rather that the audio is better in Chinese. It seems to me that Lu guang's voice is better in Chinese than in Japanese, it tears more feeling, but the Japanese dubbing is still good, some people may see it in this language just because it seems more common to them , that Chinese seems strange to you The work is good, the story is good, the ops, the eds, are good, and what matters is the story, and the language is a personal taste Despite that, bro, it is more advisable to see a work in its original language (the work would be respected a little more by seeing it like this) that is, in my case I like to see a series, movies or animes in their original languages (either English , Spanish, Chinese, Korean, etc) |

| I voted for the original Chinese language audio. Firstly, I should issue a disclaimer to say that even leaving aside the current season (since I don't think a Japanese dub is even out for it yet?) and only taking into account the first season, I haven't watched the entirety of the series in both languages. I have watched the entirety of the series that's been released up to now in Chinese and only seen the first episode of the series/season one in the Japanese dub. The Japanese dub was solid and well-performed, but while I like this series and consider it good (it's like a 7/10-tier to me), it's not something I felt the need to watch the entirety of all over again, especially so soon after finishing it the first time, just for the sake of watching it in a different language. My general rule and preference is for watching everything in its original language even to the point of scouring for the original language iteration of various media when they're not widely available, as long as it's physically possible somewhere somehow as an option. This stance and preference has absolutely nothing to do with judging the languages in and of themselves comparatively. If I were just going by personal language preference alone from a sensory auditory standpoint of which is most enjoyable and pleasing to listen to, Japanese would win far and away. From having watched enough anime regularly in it by now, live action Japanese films, Japanese music, etc., I can say I find it a very smooth and easy language to listen to; somewhere in the top five as far as preferences for languages to listen to in terms of foreign languages which I do not speak. But again, here, my choice has nothing to do with that. I want to experience everything with the original audio intact and that means its original language, because in my mind that feels closer to the original spirit of the work. Those are the voices of the original voice actors who were chosen to best embody the characters by someone closest to the original source in a team project with the original author/creator, director, etc. And from within the context of the culture and country which the original work came from. It really doesn't matter if said language is Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, English, Farsi, Czech, Nepali, etc. The original is most authentic even if you're not a speaker of that language. You're still hearing what they originally created and the emotions come through the sounds, in my view. Everything else feels more removed and detached. I enjoyed the one episode of the Japanese dub I saw; don't get me wrong. And I may even one day end up watching the series all over again in Japanese now that I've seen (or will have seen by that point) the original all the way through. But Chinese for first-timers, definitely. Those involved in donghua as an industry in China may not have the polish and acclaimed extensive portfolios of many of their Japanese seiyuu counterparts yet as it still seems like a fledgling enterprise there, but I never found the voice acting in this series to be poor (sometimes the English subtitling translations though...) and the care put toward and production values for this series seem high (especially in the second season after it gained a popular following). Also, Qiao Ling's voice is cute. |
