It seems like most people are enjoying the premiere which makes me happy cuz it’s probably the weakest part of the manga imo. But I still think most people will overlook this cuz it doesn’t pick up until the second half. I won’t go into any manga spoilers but to anime onlys, if you like it now you will love it even more later. Also saw some people saying they didn’t like Vamirio, and I get that but you’ll come to atleast like her later on

If the adaptation is decent throughout with the pacing not crumbling after the start, then there is indeed potential of this being a sleeper hit this year. At least it isn't getting the Lucifer and the Biscuit hammer treatment from first impressions, which is good.

Yeah animation was surprisingly good actually. Nothing crazy but I saw an impact frame during the op and it was pretty consistent throughout with some strong shots

It looks like Yuusha ga Shinda, the other Ura Sunday manga that was animated last season, got the short end of the stick anime adaptation-wise because like you said Helck could definitely start gaining a large following and become a sleeper hit once the story gets going.

While reading the summary of this season's new anime, Helck was pretty much the only one to catch my attention. I haven't watched the first episode yet, but I'm hyped!

Spread it to more people on social media, make posts , reels and all. Then only underrated anime like this gets attention and maybe get high up

It was unexpectedly good. I hope it can get enough attention.
My mal account is not working properly. In the last 24 hours, there isn't showing any forum discussion.  What should I do?!

? I was loving Vamirio. I love the explosions and the tsundere attitude. She was one of my main interests for starting the show in the first place. I think I am going to pick up the first volume of the manga today. Kind of nervous about a 12 volume manga into a 24 episode show (I saw somewhere that it is getting a full adaption). It might work, but I am a little worried about the pacing and at least want to read some of the manga to get an idea for the differences.

A full adaptation isn’t confirmed or anything, it just makes sense in terms of commercial success. But of course it can be done, as summertime render of last year has a similar length and was adapted in 24 episodes seamlessly. They will have to cut some stuff but nothing super important, just some gags and stuff. I personally hope they do 2 cours and then one short season

ngl the Frontpage pic doesn't even make me want to read the plot or the classic" doesnt make justice to the anime" wtf does a muscle guy with a smile imply lol(but since I have more spare time now, I read the plot and honestly seems alright) I'd give a try

TBH, I read a few chapters of the manga back in 2015-ish (almost 10 years huh).

But dropped it cause I wasn't really interested in the "HE-MAN" type of thing... cause this is pretty much just Japan HE-MAN.

I'll watch a few episodes and see how this series is, lol.

.

BTW, the plot reminds me of Yuusha Yamemasu (even tho Yuusha technically came out later)

Where the "human" wants to join the Demon side to destroy the Human side at the start of the series.

Yeah I’d say it’s pretty similar to that one except this one is MUCH better executed. If you watched the anime for that one like I did you will remember ep 9 or something was a sort of standout episode where it was vastly better then the rest of the episodes. Helck has something like that except even better and for 30 chapters straight

What? If we get the obvious out of the way (muscly dude mostly half naked), how on earth is this even close to He-Man (and which one)?

on an unrelated note, Kanojo ga Koushaku-tei ni Itta Riyuu's OP music is so badass (despite being a romantic otoge) i tried to play it over Helck's OP and they still fit in some parts

I'm making this bad.
Some people may be waiting for Frieren, but Helck even with lower production values is simply a "more interesting and exciting" story.

Based on the OP alone, I can see that this a pretty low budget anime.
Its unfortunate, im a big fan of the manga

@lotus_eater
It sure is, but I'd recommend reading it instead.
