Unfortunately the shows maker was on "Trash Taste" podcast and they asked him. TLDR they can only make projects "clients" want made. And so far no client wanted S2 made. So, no show until someone's willing to pay them to make it. How about we pool our money? Just like a hundred million will do no?

there wont be a s2 , they skipped sm chpts of the manga in the adaptation that were important for the continuation of the plot so if anythin i'd say it'd only continue if it gets a new adaptation w preferably 24eps this time since imo only 12 was nowhere near enough to show how good this shet is

This may be very painful for all of you..... Houseki no kuni doesn't have the finances to get a second season adaptation. If you want to buy manga or merchandise like clothes figures or other things they haven't been making them since 3 years ago, only spare items remain , I had asked my friend from Japan to buy Houseki no kuni merchandise from Japan directly because the stock was very limited

Instead of getting a remake I'd rather get a second season.... This anime is less popular some people are practically unknown .... Maybe they did that because they told us to read the manga/ buy it.... 10,000 years we will get a second season believe me :(

No, that is not what he said at all. For those wondering it’s episode 152 around 25:00. Nothing he said excluded HnK getting a second season. All he said is that it is up to the clients, ie Kodansha who publishes HnK and the rest of their production committee. A second season of HnK cannot happen without their approval. Studio Orange can’t just decide to make a second season on their own. And at present Kodansha haven’t given the go ahead or at least they haven’t gone public about commissioning a second season. HnK is a fairly popular manga; they were advertising the 100th chapter in Shibuya. If Kodansha et al. want to continue it’s on them.

They just rearranged stuff. Nothing that can't be fixed with S2.

And I am sure there will be a Season 2 someday, in the Trash Taste podcast he even said how LONG it takes for Orange to make an anime. They're just fully focused on Beastars until next year and the second Trigun Season as well.
